Government schools in Anambra are more than standard, that I've seen. So all the scraps called schools should be brought down.

You and I know that many Nigerians run mushroom low-standard schools in this part of the world. Even school drop outs who have no knowledge of administration and academics start school in one corner and produce corner corner products just because of money and nothing more.

Let's be objective, if a true leader will fix this country, a lot of destruction from foundation must be done because the structure has been standing on a wrong foundation since 1960 and the rot is getting more complex everyday.

I just pray he succeeds.
Do you know the condition of getting a school approved ?
In Lagos for example, you must have 2 plots of land and stipulated amount of classes and facilities. If u are not a millionaire, in this kindof country, you can never pull that off.
So many schools started from small and became mighty due to quality and affordable educations. Even the so called government schools are not up to standard.

I think what Soludo should do first is to equip all the 200+ government schools in Anambra before facing private individuals. If public schools are of good standard, parents will stop patronizing those private schools.

He is already behaving like a Governor whose tenure will ruin the state.
His advisers are not working.
I want to see how he will campaign for reelection after this term. All these are being watched by his political opponents and he is scoring a big own goal.

Upgrade the state owned schools before facing the private shouldn't be hard for anyone to understand.

I know so many BIG schools in Lagos that started as a mushroom school.
The most important thing is the vision of the school owner not a governor who knows noting about running a school business

Demolish, shutdown, destroy etc are the only headlines soludo is making since becoming governor.
When will he start to build, improve the quality of life of people in his state?

Instead of shutting them down, why can't he just suspend their activities untill they meet govt standards. That's the source of some people's livelihood ooo. All this mumu Governor's sha. God will judge all of you accordingly.

They want Nigeria to move forward, yet can’t separate emotion from governance.

You should have gone to a mushroom school or enrolled your kids or relations in one of them.

What an irredeemable dimwit you are!

By the time this man finishes one year in office, 50% of Anambra residents may have relocated to the nearest state as the inflation rate will be too high... Imagine charging keke riders #15,000 on monthly basis and they will still settle agbero... The residents are watching

@Seniorwriter
This ur comment reeks of stupidity. So he should be emphatic towards substandard schools? With the way everybody is now opening schools to be churning out brainless mofos at the end of day. If u don't want ur school to be closed down, do the right thing and register your school with the government. So many schools that aren't government approved

Opening a school is not a must. If u can't atleast provide d basic government requirements for opening a school, u have no business running a school. Instead go open church, atleast there are no stringent requirements. Nowadays u see soo many schools not conducive for learning litered everywhere

Why not regularise the ones that meet standards instead of outright shutting down considering the fact that Anambra has only 229 Secondary Schools.... that means majority of Ndi Anambra attend "illegal" unapproved schools if you extrapolate the percentage of approved secondary schools with total number of schools at all levels.

What are the educational, social, religious, and economic implications?

It is obvious u didn't understand the news.

“Owners of such schools are advised, for their own benefit, to register their establishments and adhere to the procedures for school inspection.” the above is in the news.

@andrewegbuna stop showing your toxic ignorance on a public space...learn to read to comprehend rather than reading to just spew trash....so to you if a school isn't registered properly or with qualified tutors the best thing to do is to demolish the building(structure)? What happened to the approach of sealing the school(s) then compelling the owners to do the right thing...? The problem with you is that you lack the IQ to think retrospectively.

@Seniorwriter

Please read the article. There's no where it was started that the structure housing such school will be demolished.

Those below standard will upgrade. Children should not be raised in certain places. Na why most adults aren't behaving normal.
