The role of the Nigerian youth in the emergence of a new Nigeria is an impeccable and pertinent one as regard the formation and emergence of a new Nigeria. As a matter of fact, 70% of the burden towards the realization of this agenda “ New Nigeria”, rest on the shoulders of the Nigerian youth. According to research carried out by some scholars, it was estimated that the total number of Nigerian youth is close to 70 % of the total population of the country which is estimated to be around 206 million. If this is true , going by the 70% estimation of the Nigerian youth, it means that the Number of the Nigerian youth estimates to a total of 144.2 million, which is a whopping number. Going by this estimation it means that 7 out of every 10 Nigerian, is a youth. A new Nigeria would mean a Nigeria where those in government who are representative of the people, truly represent the people, caring for them and also performing the duties expected of them as leaders who are expected to lead by example, following and honouring the dictates, duties and responsibilities attached to the various representative post they occupy.

A New Nigeria would mean a Nigeria where there is less unemployment and a spike in the employment rate in the country. A country where any physically and mentally capable individual can be gainfully employed within any sphere or strata of the economy without any connection to a “super power” in the society, rather he or she is gainfully employed based on qualifications, experience and merit.

A new Nigeria would mean a country where maximum security of lives and properties is guaranteed, a country where banditry and kidnapping is ....... continue reading at
