it's not a new thing for lecturers to make you work in their field of interest. Same applies abroad. Infact, if you're looking for scholarship abroad, you must go and check on what your supposed supervisor/sponsor is working on and fit into his/her design if not, you're on your own. That's how academia work, you have to fit into something reasonable and viable and not some cooked up stories you present as research project.
Lol, so it's the Nigerian lecturers' own that are not cock and bull stories?
At least in good schools abroad, the Dons there engage in meaningful work that even the students will be begging to be part of.
It's well known that their so called "research" in Nigeria are mere pieces of paper they carry out just for the sake of promotion.
In one sentence alone, 10 authors would be cited.
They only escape plagiarism check by changing dictions

we all have experienced ASUU strike one way or the other but it's not fair that the people training the citizens of the Nation have nothing to call their own and are the worst state of living. Why can't government do the needful. But if it's to share monies amongst themselves as government officials, they will gladly do it.

take government to court and leave nigerian youths out of your failed bargain

maybe you're still a kid or not even born, ASUU has gone on strike in this nation more than one and half year. Go and verify if you don't know.
I'm aware they have gone on several incessant strikes and even got paid on compassionate grounds after such strikes.

But the government wants to change the status quo this time. Nigerian youths who have borne the burdens of the strikes are now supporting the government to put a final stop to the incessant strikes. You know why? A critical look at the reasons for the strikes would reveal that they are not necessary!

.
Lol
AS if it's up to you.
Even if you are a lecturer, you are still a minnow. For now the only thing you can do is "follow follow"

It's other people that are making the decisions and deciding your fate.

Zonal branch meetings and NEC meeting will take place tomorrow or Tuesday where ASUU will shamefully suspend the strike after having nowhere to turn to. You'll have no option than to follow and obey again.
That's when you'll start building resentments for your bosses who put you in this situation in the first place.

The last NEC meeting where indefinite strike was declared was a heated one, cos some people were against the strike, but they pacified them and told them to allow the union push a little further just maybe fg will bend, but doing so has only made them suffer more loss.
