The federal government is the accuser and now the judge. Only dictarol government follows sentiment and doesn't obey the constitutional rights of its citizens once affirmed by a court of law. Why do we have separation of powers? All these arguements is what you should have presented in the court.. If you know you will not obey the court rules, why take him to court. That tells you that not everyone with the inscription SAN merits it. The executive is simply rubbishing the judiciary which in every democracy is the last hope of a common man. 2 Likes |

What kind of country is this called Nigeria and this Buhari government? As much as I don't support some of Nnamdi Kanu's actions and activities, the Nigerian federal government said that the case for his release is within the court to decide. Now the court has freed and acquitted him. Then you don't want to obey the court. Why take him to the court in the first place? 1 Like |

ManchesterGUY: What makes it illegal? Because you and Buhari says so? Have you ever read the Nigeria constitution? Who qualifies a separatist group or body as being proscribed is not the executive nor the Legislature. It is the work of the Judiciary. Malami is an idiot and a big shame to the legal profession. Did you read those trash he said ? I want you to try and get a copy of Nigeria Constitution 1999 as amended and study it. There you’ll realize that the IPOB shouldn’t be proscribed. The Fulani caliphate just don’t want to lose their revered establishment called Nigeria. They are afraid that once any dissident group succeeds in their secession bid, others will follow. In an organized environment, whoever arrested Kanu should’ve been fired by now. Nigeria is a signatory to international treaties on human right abuse and the Federal government erred in the manner in which Kanu was arrested. They should release him, apologize to him and pay him the 500 million naira damage the court awarded him. This shows one thing: Malami is a dunce and Kanu is way more brilliant and intelligent than Buhari and Malami combined. 1 Like |

If an individual are given excuses not obey court order, will it be accepted by the government. One the complaint that he jumped bail, every body know that he was in Nigeria before some dances were carried out that led to loss of lives in his fathers house, then what do we expect his to do? Also saying that his action led to loss of lives and assassinations, the government that is holding him for this has been convicted on two occasions; his lawyer took them to court for killing some people in his office and the judge finds government guilty and awarded damages to the family, Igboho' s case was similar, where a court of competent jurisdiction declared that government engaged in an unlawful act and finds them guilty loss of lives in his house. Malami should consider his stand in leu of the above judgement. |

To release or not to release is a function of law and the rule of law for that matter. Who rules on the law?... isn't it a judge? ... and if the judge rules someone should be set free shouldn't the person be set free? If the FG does not agree with the decision... isn't it for them to file an appeal? What this one is saying is as long as charges are on him he must not be freed. With this reasoning.....someone can be locked up for life... just need to be filing charges against the person. This is just showing the world the FG is above the law. K just hope he is.charged for contempt of court. 2 Likes |

Nigerians are good at crying loud, suffering and smiling and not doing anything about their pathetic situation. There is a protest in Sri Lanka, Citizens are demanding better governance...but can this happen in Nigeria Under our watch, the APC government is reducing the country to nothing but a banana republicc. Lack of respect for the rule of law. The moment I touched down at JFK, I promised myself I won't come to Nigeria in a hurry. The country is becoming a mess, and Peter Obi is the one likely to salvage it! |

“So, the simple question is, whether what the federal government has done, by way of not releasing Kanu is justified within the context of the rule of law and my answer is yes, it is justified. This is because the single case that has been determined is not the only pending case against Kanu. “There exist other multiple cases associated with treason, there exist multiple appeals that are pending and yet to be determined and then again, there are international public interest dimension and the essence of the government is the sustenance of a public and not an individual interest,” Malami explained in the interview. |
