I didn't day They'd be prosecuted. They'd be arrested for negligence. They were said to be around when the boy got drowned. Where were they and what where they doing? Would the caregiver be prosecuted? Most likely, because they were employed to give care to the boy. That's a breach of contract. The boy was naive...too young to he left alone to play around the pool. Why didn't davido build a poolproof around it, knowing he had a tot in the house? I read a post some days ago, that he (Davido) was teaching his son how to swim. Who knows maybe the guy was trying to practice what he was taught by himself.

I hate to agree with you. There is nothing spiritual about the deaths around Davido, it simply boils down to LIFESTYLE.

Have you seen a video of Davido’s mansion on banana Island before? Did you watch a few days ago where himself, chioma and late ifeanyi were swimming? There was nothing like a childproof around it and that alone is punishable in line with the dos and don'ts guiding a swimming pool ownership in a private home. That's negligence.

It's just like a house razed down by fire and people got killed in the inferno and there's no safety measure in place, including a fire extinguisher and you're saying the home owner wouldn't be punished for that just because he wasnt home when the fire accident happened ? Exactly, their fault is that they work for people rich enough to ruin their lives. How can you have 8 staffs and not a single one delegated for the little one. Even at that, the family members at home are just as guilty of negligence.

Wouldn't want to blame anyone and wouldn't want to judge without facts but if the typical Nigerian safety handling was anything to go by. We have a fair idea of how this could have happened.

Unfortunately this has led to the death of an innocent child.

We need to strengthen our laws and the applications. DBanj had same issues some few years ago. Imagine if the child right act was applied and if any negligence were punished then? Wouldn't owners of houses with swimming pools have sat up and put in place safety measures to curtail such? Yeah it is God that guides but we are duty bound to cross all ts when it comes to safety.

But nah. We whine about the death and go back to the same ways. Until another tradegy happens and we wail about it and another happens. Cycle continues. Without any learnings , any repercussions for inaction.

When you see Job description overseas and you see things like ability to carry a certain weight, have a specific skill set we often think those are just stupid. We hire life guards without swimming experience, knowledge of CPR. Nannies who don't have basic trainings on child care, understanding hazards, basic first aid for kids. Some don't even know about peanut allergies, choke hazards etc. If you have an hazard like a swimming pool at home , you have to factor in those skills in people you want.

I just hate such type of deaths. Deeply painful that if 1,2,3 things had been done, such could have been prevented
