FromTopToBottom: Yes, I will even pay more than that as long as I know I will have access to it anytime I need it. In Nigeria that you don't care about important things like that, how many of you can afford to even go to the clinic? You'd rather go to roadside pharmacy for drugs without diagnosis, hence the reason many die from self-medication and overdose. 4 Likes |

Where in Canada? Certainly not Toronto! If it’s Nigerian community you are after, they are everywhere. They won’t come find you in your house. I worked in Canada, New York and London. In each of these locations I made friends and had/have an active social life. Get into an activity… 6 Likes |

The irony of everything is that, the people that never had other countries experience are the one that will be advising the people facing the challenges abroad.people can’t understand the meaning of slavery until u find urself in a situation that is similar. And this reminds me that the people that always fighting for better Nigeria mostly are the ones in abroad, we need to ask why? Simply because they have seen other side of the coin 14 Likes 4 Shares |

mvem:Lol, asides the fact that people who japaed look so fresh in their pictures and have access to standard amenities and a clean environment, the strong currency etc.. I agree japaing isn't for everyone more especially for people who just jumped on the japa train because that's what everyone is doing now without considering factors like their purpose, their personality types, how diligent they are etc. I know of people who only changed states within Nigeria, and they feel lonely, in a country like Nigeria where everyone is in your business, just imagine these types are miles away in a western country where nobody minds your business. 3 Likes |

I personally asked to be moved to Canada when there was an opening. I can't wait to go next year March when the new office opens. From my two weeks visit during my training stint in the US, Canada doesn't seem like a lonely place. Maybe because I feel very comfortable in my own company. 4 Likes |

Agbegbaorogboye: Dude, even if you have slurry speech or any signs if stroke, if you get medical care immediately, there's higher probability the impact will be low. Now, if your governor should have such case, he will likely end up become useless because it will take long before getting to the clinic! Gov. Akeredolu was being treated for malaria meanwhile he had COVID, that's how bad the health sector is! If the pandemic was not a global issue, Abba Kyari and many of the elites would have fled the country for better healthcare, including your Buhari. 2 Likes |

Some of us who came back after our studies will remain grateful forever. I remember in 2004 when I arrived in Newyork, JFK. It was like an earthly paradise. I left JFK for Jamaica via Sutfin Builevard by train where I went to catch Grey Hounds to my school, upstate. The day I was coming back, those naijas there using people's sola-sola to work thought they had reached their fair haven. Today...looking back, all I can say is thank God. I've been to US several times since I came back. I remember a day i told one of them who chose to stay , how much I spent building my house...the best in the estate. He was like, where did you get that kind of money from? I work for my money and I own a legit business. Go there, tap opportunities and come back home and utilise it. Nigeria is hot cake for investments. Indians and Chinese would come here with a luggage and a pair of shoes but return home millionaires in dollars. Common! 13 Likes |

Op to me, I think you travelled to the abroad blindly , that's why you're feeling the way you're feeling. You expected too much from your destination country. Your expectations were just too high from the get go. You believed it was all heaven on earth travelling out and when you don't get to have that heavenly feeling, you blame it on the Said country that granted you the opportunity of seeing beyond the shore of your mother's land. Your reason for traveling was too trivia, I must tell you. If it was just to get away from the too much noises you claimed, you should have relocated to a much more quiet city in Nigeria like Uyo and Abuja and still achieve your desire of wanting to get away from the too much noises. This is to me a missed priority. Your priority was not right from the get go. You will be surprised that other people that had more serious reasons for travelling to that same Canada are enjoying that same Canada cuz they had more top-notch reasons for relocating order than just wanting to get away from the too much noises in Nigeria. But just before you plan coming back to Nigeria, try and get your citizenship first. Don't make the mistake of rushing back to Nigeria only for you to get here and feeling Nostalgia and start thinking of going back again. We have seen many like that who hastily come back to Nigeria and started regretting all over again why they came back. If you come back hastily without having your CANADA passport first, you will have yourself to blame. Do the needful and stay back till you become a citizen. I believe it only takes 4yrs starting from the day you landed in the country. A word is enough for the for the wise. @ Aareona 11 Likes |

Bro, $20K is a lot of money in the West. You are doing great to be able to save that. Most of us in the West cannot boast of that as saved. Earlier this year, I went back in time to few years back when I was doing so well in Nigeria. The noises from friends and all nurtured the decision to move abroad inside of me. I became so restless till I finally leave. The first day in Canada was the day I knew this place isn't where I can be forever. Most of us would have come back before the time we had in mind except for the fact that I don't still have enough. If I want to travel to naija for vacation now, I will need up to $4k. If I take that away from my savings, I don't know how I can recover. No one tells about the downside of this place. I feel lonely, depressed and empty most times. Because no one to talk to, just everyone in my workplace goin about their business. If I make attempt to talk to them, they just waive it with a smile. It's been 3years here and the people I still talk to on video call are friends from Nigeria. It's been 3years and my savings is still Short of $20k despite how much my friends in Nigeria do tell me how easy it is for me to make money abroad but I never tell them my situation. I can't wait to make enough and leave Canada for good. I know a lot will come at me with the usuall "come back to Nigeria na", please this is not an attempt to denigrate your abroad heaven, just for me to rant out and be fine[/quote] 1 Like |
