It's almost the end of the year everyone
What do you have to show for it? What progress have you made this year?
Me?
No friends
No love life
In school but grades are bad
No future prospects whatsoever except to be a programmer
Turned 21 and really have nothing to show for it
People look at me like a psychopath
I bet it's really easy to one up me and my year. I have no life smiley

OP; you aren’t a failure. 21 is YOUNG.

Accomplishment - real accomplishment - comes from years and years and years of work. And “work” in this context doesn’t mean a job…it means tiny, incremental improvements in your habits, efficiency, knowledge, skills every day. Some people start those years and years of work at 12, some start it at 22, and some start at 32 or even older. It’s like saving for retirement; yeah, would have been better if you started saving at 12 but that doesn’t mean that starting today can’t be extremely rewarding.

So, don’t worry about what you haven’t done, focus on one thing about your life that you could make better in the next 24 hours and do that thing. Also think about stopping something you do everyday that isn’t helping you be the person you want to be. Could be alcohol, gambling, porn…

Last thing; don’t give up on something because you don’t get it right away. No one understanding anything “straight away.” You have to get comfortable with being uncomfortable. Learning is discomfort. Discomfort is learning. Turn it around in your mind: “this subject makes me uncomfortable, therefore it must be an opportunity for growth.”

First aim to become your own best friend then friendship with others takes on real meaning. Else, all you will doing is looking to depending on others which you really shouldn't. undecided

Next, at your age is all a bunch of chemicals in the brain and hormones in your loins which are bound to get you in more trouble than you really need. Focus instead on understanding the why of love and what tangible meaning you really seek from it then you can make wiser decisions in love. Love is really meant to be defined by a bunch of rules that form an agreement bayern you and the one who loves you. But way to many out there let their body and hormones take the wheel. undecided

You can also start a small garden in the backyard where you grow and harvest vegetables and tubers all year round. Something else you could do is learn to draw by practicing drawing everyday, so you could add drawing to your skillset by end of next year. undecided

I feel your pain Bro, but do not be discouraged.
If you have to work and walk alone, don't give up, there is light at the end of the tunnel.
