Elon Musk warns that free speech may not exist if Kamala Harris, who was a strong supporter of removing Trump from Twitter, gets into office.


Here are some attacks on free speech that have taken place this past month:

1. Brazil announces anyone using a VPN to access X will be fined up to $8,874 a day.

2. German podcast hosts of 'Hoss and Hopf' face a €250,000 fine and jail time in Germany after they "misgendered" a bald transgender person.

3. Telegram founder Pavel Durov is arrested in France for not censoring users.

4. UK arrests a 55-year-old woman for sharing "misinformation" online.

5. UK looks to move forward with new legislation that would label misogyny as a form of extremism.

6. EU Commissioner Thierry Breton sent Elon Musk a letter, demanding that he comply with their censorship laws.

7. Rumble CEO Chris Pavlovski fled Europe, citing threats from the French government.

8. META CEO Mark Zuckerberg released a letter, detailing how the Biden-Harris administration and the FBI worked to censor content on META platforms.

On Brazilian Justice de Moreas's order shutting down X:

The text of his 51-page decision is far more concerning and sweeping than the headlines suggest.

de Moreas’s own words make clear that he is attempting to strike a broader blow against free speech and in favor of authoritarian controls.

His opinion does not even try to hide it. He comes right out and points to Brexit and the 2016 election of President Trump as examples, in his telling, of the types of extreme “populist” outcomes that he is attempting to avoid by imposing a new censorship regime in Brazil ahead the country’s elections later this year.

But this type of censorship of a political and ideological nature is expressly prohibited by Brazil’s own Constitution.

Nonetheless, de Morea argues that free speech on X cannot be allowed to continue because the diversity of political opinions expressed on the site might influence the people of Brazil ahead of their 2024 elections. See op. at 31-32.

In other words, de Morea is arguing that free speech is a threat to democracy—a position that is as Orwellian as it is dangerous.

The opposite is true. Free speech is democracy’s check on excessive government control. Censorship is the authoritarian’s dream.

To dress up his decision, de Morea runs the warmed over playbook of labeling political speech that runs contrary to his own orthodoxy as “misinformation” and “disinformation.” But authoritarians like de Morea are not worried that people will be misled by the political messages they choose to read. He is worried that those messages will be effective.

At bottom, this decision is part of a live, ongoing, and global debate between free speech and censorship, between freedom and control. It is imperative that free speech and freedom prevail.

Or as the late NY Times editor John Oakes once said, “Diversity of opinion is the lifeblood of democracy. The minute we begin to insist that everyone think the same way we think, our democratic way of life is in danger.” Those are the stakes.

Justice Moraes is threatening Brazilians who use a VPN to access X with fines of up to $9000 a day.

Egypt pours 10,000 soldiers into Somalia.

The Egyptian force is sent as part of the African Union's mission to stabilize Somalia.


Of course, this is not due to philanthropy, but in the background there is a conflict over the dam and Ethiopia's agreement with Somaliland that may lead to its recognition, therefore there are voices of WAR …

I am calling upon the CEOs of American Airlines, Delta, and United to end the unilateral + indefinite suspensions of air travel to ISRAEL .
The operative words here are ‘unilateral’ and ‘indefinite.’

Air travel suspensions should have time limits and FAA approval. Instead of following the FAA, the three airlines have been acting on their own to suspend flights to ISRAEL .

These suspensions are so indefinite as to be indistinguishable from a boycott.

Poland not even considering shooting down Russian missiles and drones over Ukraine - deputy defense minister

▪️ "We are not considering in any format what is one of Ukraine's expectations, that is the possibility of shooting down missiles or drones from Polish territory," Pawel Zalewski said in Brussels . .
▪️ He noted that NATO countries have already provided Ukraine with a large amount of air defense equipment.

A significant portion of the weapons supplied by the West to Ukraine fuels terrorism in the Sahel and increases the risk of destabilization in the region, said Mali's Permanent Representative to the UN.

German troops have completely left Niger

On August 30, Niger's chief of land forces, Mamane Sani Kiau, and German Colonel Karsten Struss signed an agreement to hand over the 101st Air Base in Niamey to the West African country's armed forces.

Five transport planes carried 60 Bundeswehr personnel and 146 tons of cargo.

"Today's ceremony marks the final withdrawal of German troops from Niger and the closure and handover of their facility,"
- said a member of the withdrawal committee.

An RPG shoulder missile was fired at ISRAELI troops.

The residents of the neighborhood it was fired from have received an immediate evacuation order!

AND HERE IS SOME GOOD NEWS:
Nearly 30,000 Jews have moved to Israel since October 7.
The majority came from the US and France, followed by Canada and the UK.

In 2022, it was 73,000, mostly from Ukraine and Russia.

The enemy keeps telling us Jews are fleeing Israel but in reality Jews are fleeing to ISRAEL.

Iranian athlete Saeid Sadeghianpour just forfeited his Paralympics taekwondo match to Israeli athlete Adnan Milad.

Milad, who is Arab, had his arm amputated after a work accident in 2018.

The IDF and the ISA ELIMINATED the Commander of the Islamic Jihad’s Central Camps Brigade.

In a joint IDF and ISA operation on Thursday in central Gaza, an IAF aircraft struck and ELIMINATED the Commander of the Islamic Jihad's Central Camps Brigade, the terrorist Muhammad Katrouy.

Katrouy was responsible for rocket attacks against Israel from the central Gaza Strip and the Islamic Jihad's terror activities against Israeli civilians and soldiers.

He held a number of roles in the Islamic Jihad terrorist organization, including Deputy Brigade Commander and Intelligence Officer.

You misheard. S400 is in the Crimea and Ukraine is doing whatever they like there. So much so that the Russian Black Sea Fleet has gone MIA from Crimea.
