NATO has expanded 10 times since its creation in 1949. After the collapse of the Soviet Union, 16 countries joined the alliance. Among them are Finland, which joined last year, and Sweden, which became a member of NATO today, March 7. Thus, today 32 countries are members of NATO. 1 Like

Vandals burned down Ukraine's largest Jewish cemetery Vandals have once again targeted a site of great significance to the Jewish community by desecrating the graves of Holocaust victims. This incident occurred at the Jewish cemetery in Berdychiv, located in the Zhytomyr region of Ukraine. Remarkably, the local police initiated an investigation based only on the burning of dry grass within the cemetery premises, a matter that typically results in only an administrative fine. The Facebook post has been replaced to not include imagery of damage to the cemetery. It's important to note that the cemetery in Berdychiv has faced similar acts of vandalism in the past, including the looting of burial sites. These deplorable actions have been condemned by members of the community and observers alike. Eduard Dolinsky, a prominent figure in the Ukrainian Jewish community, has highlighted a distressing pattern of grave looting that occurs with alarming regularity. He pointed out that organized groups often target Jewish graves in search of valuables, despite the historical fact that victims of the Holocaust were usually deprived of their possessions prior to their murder. 1 Like

Spanish military personnel change gender en masse due to benefits and salary — El Espanol Reports have emerged that members of the Spanish Armed Forces, stationed at a garrison in Northern Africa, are changing their gender on official documents. This wave of gender changes comes in the wake of a government policy aimed at enhancing salaries and benefits for women serving in the army. Democrats are threatening to bypass Speaker Johnson on Ukraine aid, reports the Washington Times. Dems are threatening to bypass Mike Johnson if he does not yield to their demands. A group of lawmakers led by House members Brian Fitzpatrick and Jared Golden want to bring to a vote a foreign aid package that includes money for Ukraine and Israel. The aid to Ukraine will amount to $47 billion, and $10 billion to Israel. Johnson has been given a kind of ultimatum - the decision must be made by Friday. At the same time, there is no money in the bill to "stop the flow of illegal migrants". The lawmakers want to play the parties "against each other" in order to finally solve the problem. |
