After receiving Olusegun Obasanjo’s text message announcing his new year’s charge, Ilemona Onoja, a member of the strategic communication committee for the PDP Presidential campaign council, opted not to criticize him.

Ilemona outlined Obasanjo’s significance to Nigeria and the rest of the world. He believed that Obasanjo’s views on Nigeria could not be disregarded and that certain of the former president’s assertions in that letter were backed up by evidence.

All parties desire endorsements, he continued, particularly from well-known people like Obasanjo. He argues that it is improper to attempt to disprove the wise man’s political beliefs in this situation.

He said, “We cannot claim that OBJ’s remarks are meaningless because of his outstanding reputation internationally; only the naive would do so. I am a two-term former president who managed the country for eleven years.

He is a person who significantly influenced the growth of our party. That is something you must consider. Consider the fact that the letter contained a factual section that was based on statistics, actual events, and the challenges that Nigerians experience every day.
