Because there is NO evidence to show that any God as described and put forth by the theist exist, rather there are countable evidence to show that all Gods and religions are man made. . . .As such absence of evidence is indeed evidence of absence.

No, its not that you can't imagine living without any God, it's just that you can not accept living without what you have been indoctrinated with which later turned out to be your reality. . . .Your religion like other religions has carried on ONLY because of the fear and guilt that it instills upon the believer. Through family traditions for centuries are the reasons why people believe not because the beliefs are true but because it is the way of life of the people. Our parents taught us this things and how to reason along religious lines right from childhood and we accepted them. Most times we become what our parents wanted us to become when it comes to religion just like them. Children are sent to various schools (sunday school or koranic schools) to learn ONLY about their parents religion. NEVER allowed to question, NEVER allowed to learn about other outside the faith or religions of their parents. Taught that fictional or embellished characters like Jesus or Mohammed and the religions that were formed after them were the right and only way or truth. Religious brainwashing 101.

I live life any other person, no longer superstitious, believe that anything that man wants to do must be done my man himself, take full responsibility for my actions what ever they might be, I no longer blame imaginary constructs like satan or demons for my misfortunes, am no longer afraid of many things and much wiser now than when i was religious . . . .By the way there is NO evidence what so ever to show that theist are more morally upright than atheist. . . .I live in an atheistic society and it has less crime rate and better gender equality, better justice systems and people have higher rights here than Nigeria which happens to be the most religious country I know. . . .

what do you do when your in trouble or depress?

Trouble always comes. . .By the way there is no evidence to show that those that believe in God are better protected from trouble or misfortune than those that do not, having said that when in trouble, I call on friends or family to help me out when am in trouble, I don't waste my time praying to get out of trouble, I call on people I know will be able to help me to come to my aid most times it works, the people always come to my aid. . . .When depressed, I try to do things that will take my depression away i.e things that will make me happy because I know that life is full of ups and downs. . . . .Above all I try to confront what ever it is that is making me depressed head on, if its something way beyond my power and control I just let it be and over time it will pass. . . .

This (these) questions are well beat. I for one will not spare time that i do not have in answering such, there are far more critical questions than "Why are you an atheist" It will only spark a tirade of insults and derogatory comments from all corners - there are productive issues one can deal with rather than opening a closed mindset

Get out the bug thats buzzing inside your head before you try to figure out why others dont have the same bug. If you cannot imagine living without god, then who is the one in bondage? What do to when you are in trouble or depressed? Deal with the issues or take prozac(lol) or better still, call your mummy.lol.
If you need imaginary comfort to feel whole and alive , sorry for you. You are in a deep dark pit. You need to climb out.

The day they actually take a minute in their entire lives to think about the high lighted points above, is the day they truly become "born-again". For now, they are still over grown toddlers who are scared to let go of mama's milk.
