In the past, what we hear about is people fainting, and after pouring them water, they wake up. Fainting then was so rare.

I remember back then someone was motivating students in a tertiary institution that they shouldn't give up, even if school is hard, there's no way they can just slump and die.

That was many years ago, But can he say that today?

Today, someone will just go to the kitchen to cook, next thing is slump and die.

Someone will go to bath, next thing is slump and die;

Someone will be walking, next thing is slump and die;

Someone will be on the pulpit preaching, next thing is slump and die;

Someone will be jogging, next thing is slump and die;

Someone will be playing football, next thing is slump and die.

There are many other scenarios that calls for concern.

This wasn't like this in the past.

What is wrong?

Aw...so young a Nigerian.

People slumped and died in the good old days. A lot. Infact people also died of heart attacks in those days. A lot. An old relative of mine slumped and died in the 1960's...that's why I never met him. Nigeria's first indigenous inspector of police...the one whom the police HQ is named after in Abuja...died sitting down on his chair in front of his house...of a heart attack.

We have better awareness, and so on now of heart dieases, as a lot of better drugs. Of course, the westernization of our diet too is worsening matters, then many people have cars (in the past people walked or owned a bicycle....bicycle is good exercise reallly)....and too much processed food.

Also the internet is ubiqitous. Everyone is a news blogger...so if someone slumps in Kebbi...it is online in minutes...whereas in the good old days...it would take days to reach the newspaper and it would be buried in page 10...maybe page 30. Under the obits.

Poeple slumped back in the day...and died. It was just that back then one did not hear of it much.

Too much processed food... medication.

Lack of physical exercise.

Was gisting with a friend..wondered how we were all lean and mean during University days.. despite drinking multiple bottles of Coke daily.

He reminded me that there was no GSM... we used to walk up and down... few tricycles. In a single night, escort up to 4 girls to hostels ontop sex matters.

We burnt crazy calories. Can imagine if we were recording it on digital tools like Samsung Health now.

Good ventilation in your home is needed choosing the right neighborhood is essential to enjoying life.

Bad belle is real and it comes in the form of obstruction of the airwaves if you do not exercise. Try and build at least one stairs it helps with your agility in old age

Avoid too much smoke inhalation I almost fainted yesterday because I didn’t open the window frying dodo took 15 mins for me to get myself now imagine if you now go clubbing and many people are smoking

That’s why whenever you go to a restaurant your best bet is by the window at least last last

If you are going to Felaboration top row is better or the sides for ventilation.

One woman that sells scrutches saved my life one night feel your breath you will know when something is wrong it’s much different from a smoke session cause you will feel weaker and sweat more and each breath gets slower. You have to force yourself that’s how I survived.

That’s why we must value human life no be beans o

A near fainting experience happened when I attended Chapel of Redemption in University of Calabar. It was already filled, so I stood outside. I didn't eat before coming for the service. After some hours, I started feeling dizzy and felt my eyes closing. I quickly went and sat down on a walk pathway. After some minutes, I started sweating. I bought some snacks from a vendor, ate and went back to the hostel.

Most deaths from people who slumped has do with heart or blood pressure issues. Pouring water will not solve anything.

Hmmm. I hope you are taking good care of yourself to avoid these faintings.

It's normal everywhere. People gain weight after leaving school. A lot of my friends who were lean and mean in university have gained weight. And I graduated in 2018.

If not that I workout, I'll have been double my current size by now sef.

Always go for medical testing at least twice a year. Most medical conditions start as benign and asymptomatic conditions until the worst suddenly happens then we blame 'village people'..

There is a reason things are called news. That you read slump and die everywhere does not mean it is common. If it was common, you would hardly see it reported. How many times have you seen stories of conductors paying passengers change? If one conductor doesn’t and it leads to a bloody fight you will see it make front page on Nairaland. Nowadays every thing makes front page here. Dead forum.

We've chosen to be taking those chemicals, there are still alternatives. Most of us don't go checks to know the cardiovascular statuses.

This your constant fainting over multiple times is not all about not eating ...you need to go for serious health evaluation especially cardiovascular . Fainting is a sign of more serious issues with ur health .
