Two men were governors, Asiwaju Bola TINUBU in Lagos State and
Peter Obi in Anambra . Towards the end of their second term, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu in Lagos sent his retirement bill and got his House of Assembly to approve what you see below as his yearly pension.

1. 300% annual salary as severance package as approved by RMAFAC.
2. 100% of annual basic salary of incumbent gov as salary for LIFE even after leaving office.
3. Six new cars every 3 years
4. A new house in Lagos, minimum 5 bedroom
5. A new house in Abuja or any other location, minimum 5 bedroom.
6. Free medical care for him and members of his family for life.
7. Entitled to cooks, stewards, Gardners, and domestic staffs, all pensionable.
8. 300% of his annual basic salary as governor every 2 years as furniture allowance
9. 100% of annual basic salary as governor as his house maintenance allowance
10. Two DSS officers, 1 female officer for his wife and eight policemen to guard him.
11. 25% of his annual basic salary for personal assistants.
12. 30% of his annual basic salary for car maintenance .
13. 20% of his annual basic salary as utilities maintenance.
14. Pensionable drivers, no limits to the number.

This is apart from what Bola TINUBU gets as a percentage of collections from Alpha Beta for tax collections for Lagos State and the total control he has over the governor and the treasury.

But see what Peter Obi collects from Anambra State since leaving office as governor:

1. No gratuity
2. No pensions
3. No houses
4. No cars
5. No allowances of any kind
6. No maintenances of any kind.
7. No personal assistants paid by the state.
8. No domestic staffs paid by the state.
9. No aids sponsored by the state.
10. Not even pure water.
11. No shishi from the State.
12. No landed property
13. No trace of any form of corruption on him till date
14. He's still using his personal money to pay school fees for some children of the poor till date.

Now the two men want to be president.

So choose today who means well for Nigeria and who will serve the people selflessly.

(You can go and verify)
It got me thinking, still thinking!

BluntTheApostle:

No, I don't know.

How is he the better option?

Because he is the youngest of the three?

Because he is the most academically qualified?

Because he is the most politically experienced?

He passed these 3 checkpoints, apart from political experience. The major reason why I support him is because of the 3 front line candidates, he's the only one who is likely to make policies that'll move Nigeria from the current trajectory of destruction were headed. Nigeria doesn't need career politicians like Atiku and tinubu anymore, the system will continue as it's currently going.

Tinubu is just too old. He's already showing signs of age-induced maladies which is normal for someone his age. We don't need this at this harsh times. Also, he's so mired in controversy.....his true identity remains a facade up till this moment. Since after his tenure he has been controlling everything happening in Lagos State which is wrong. We don't need someone like this.

Atiku is a bit better. He's healthier than tinubu. He's more educated. He speaks well and he seems articulated. Major issue with is that he's part of the old brigade. He's extremely corrupt.

How did you know he is the one likely to make progressive policies?

Did you glean this from his antecedents?

Because if we look at the antecedents of these three, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is the best.

First, BAT met Lagos State IGR a little over 14 billion, and took it to over 80 billion in 7 years.

Tinubu met a Lagos state that was dependent on Federal allocation, and left it a state independent of federal allocation.

Presently, Lagos state generates more revenue than federal allocations to 36 States of the federation.

Please, what special thing did Obi do in Anambra state for 7 years?

Tinubu is just too old. He's already showing signs of age-induced maladies which is normal for someone his age. We don't need this at this harsh times.

Experience over anything right now. We don't need a greenhorn like Obi who wants to come and learn on the job.

Also, he's so mired in controversy.....his true identity remains a facade up till this moment.

Obi is mired in controversies as well. The Pandora scandal is an evidence of his lack of transparency. Investing public funds in his family business is an act of corruption. But this is Nigeria. It is hard to try certain people because of tribal sentiments.

Since after his tenure he has been controlling everything happening in Lagos State which is wrong. We don't need someone like this.

People praise Rwanda for being progressive; they don't care that one man runs the show there, which is contrary to liberal democracy.

Is Lagos not progressive. Lagos is currently the 7th fastest growing city in the world, and one of the 1-10 richest economy in Africa by GDP.

One man envisioned this. His name is Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

Atiku is a bit better. He's healthier than tinubu. He's more educated. He speaks well and he seems articulated. Major issue with is that he's part of the old brigade. He's extremely corrupt.

Atiku is not in the same league as Tinubu.

What special thing did Atiku do other than institute corruption in Nigeria. He and his former boss (OBJ) destroyed our thriving education system, and oversaw a very terrible privatization program (as attested to by Mallam El Rufai).

If you people looked at their antecedents, you will realize Tinubu is the man for the job.

What is Obi looking for in Aso Rock. Does he have any blueprint that has worked on a smaller scale? Aside saving money, can he boast of any out-of-the-box policies?

Nigeria is in a quagmire. We don't need greenhorns who want to come and experiment. We need tested hands, politically experienced heads.
