Although rumoured to be banned,
D’banj’s current song, Oliver Twist, is
still enjoying massive airplay.

LIFE&BEAT gathered from an online
magazine,
questionmarkmagazine.com, that the
track was not banned by the Nigerian
Broadcasting Commission. It said that
the NBC spokesperson had no reason
to ban the song. The spokesperson
was quoted to have said, “We have
no reason to ban any song that has
no tendency to cause turmoil, crisis
or affects the integrity of persons,
individuals or groups or the society at
large. There are many other rules
and regulations, which govern
airplays on Nigerian broadcasting
media and as far as I am concerned,
the song has not breached any and
such reports indicating it was banned
are untrue.”
Oliver Twist is D’banj’s new track. In
a radio interview, Don Jazzy, the
producer of the song, explained that
by Oliver Twist, the simply meant
that though they had made it, they
wanted more.

Soon after the song was released
last August, Don Jazzy and the
Mo’Hit crew posted a video of the
group dancing to the song on the
web and put up a competition tagged
Oliver Twist Video Competition. The
competition involves a person or a
group posting a video of their
dancing to the Oliver Twist song.
