Bikemen, I'm sure of this one. Some bikemen work for them, you get percentage when you report such constructions, that's why even in very remote parts, they'll still show up

This is indicator showing level of degradation on going in Alausa under governor Sanwo Olu of Lagos state. Those guys in those ministries are something else.

Same denial for almost all collapsed buildings... You can only believe it if you haven't done any construction in Lagos... Lagos that will mark your wall if you're building just a shop or gateman's house, how will a building get to 7-storeys without approval... As someone said earlier, I wish the owner of the building was in it when it collapsed

How does a building without approval , in such a high brow area, get to the sixth and 7th floor without approval This kind of thing would never happen in Abuja. Shame on the Lagos urban planning agency and the Lagos government , they are ultimately to blame.

Lagos State agencies are one of the most "annoying" in this country...they visit EVERY sites , organisations, shops, offices, markets under their jurisdiction..to collect taxes and levies...and sometime bribes...we shouldn't shy away from the truth!

The building agency CANNOT say they didn't know construction at that site is ongoing..

This excuse of "NOT Approved" should just stop.. because they know construction is ongoing at "unapproved" site...are they not supposed to seal the site Whoever released this communique should be arrested by now... nonsense!

Each time a building don collapse, that's when they always do not approve. Useless people.

Approval was not given but the building reached 7th floor.

I'm sure you haven't been to banana island before. This people behave as if they are above the law. It will take a courageous officer to go there and seal up a site as they are well connected.

Na lie! You can hardly do anything in Lagos without permit.

For a building going as high as having a seventh floor and Goverment is dropping this story tales by the moonlight to excuse their lazy character there is quite embarrassing ...

At the root of this you will find corruption,some public officers at appropriate authorities responsible to enforce law and order have circumvented laid-down procedures in collusion with the property owners in order to shore up their bank account balances.
