Watch out how some stubborn set of obidents/ Ip0b staying in Sudan will not leave when they should leave... They will tell you that they don't have anything to do with Nigeria since their failure candidate Peter Obi the ex-convict in UK didn't win cheesy grin

When it gets tough, they will not do a video and spread on social media saying Nigeria hates igbos and that's why they are refusing to come evacuate them...

I think what should have been done before now is sending in personnel from the foreign ministry, our military and aid into Sudan to coordinate with Nigerians over there. Create a kind of safety for them while you prepare how to loot from the country given the recent opportunity.
It’s not rocket science to have stationed our own C-130 military aircraft and going into town to get people to safety. So we will wait till the cost estimate is arrived at and logistics planned with buses when we have naval ships to move some from the ports.

I wonder the caliber of people working in the FM.

You really feel so smart.

Are you unaware that the airport is not functioning? We should move an airport there too? We should jsut send in our military - do you know the logistics required in deploying the military? And then again into what could easily turn into a hostile environment??

The NIA should be blamed for this mess. Even as far back as 2015, Intel was shared on the possiblity of such crisis playing out. Nigeria relationship with other nations include none sensitive intelligence sharing. Technically good will from one nation to another. Around December 2022 skirmishes between both warring factions were noted. Normally the PR of Sudan will assure international community within Sudan that's it's nothing to worry about.
But a nation with deep and efficient intelligence infrastructure will examine the probability and plan ahead, which is what other nations that were swift at taking actions did. The NIA tasked with such response obviously failed, when they fail the military attache to the embassy can't make or take decisive action. My observation with Nigerians serving as state representative overtly and covertly shows lack of discipline and chronic mismanagement of resources.

American government that are very far away from Africa have forgotten they have evacuated their own citizens. Chilling in their home land, but naija and other African government na to to to. Road may even be worse..bandits haven. I pity those in remote areas under heavy gunfire.
But come of it, war no good oo... That's the danger of arming locals , any disobedience and little spark like this can ignite a whole country and before you know it, genocide straight.
I wish naija dem good escape.
America has been able to evacuate only thier diplomatic staff, about 70 persons. They don't know what to do with over 16k americans still in sudan so expect nothing from Nigeria government apart from excuses.

Their military is at war with their para military and here comes the Iberian military in the mix ... what you think will happen then? Where would the C130 aircraft be stationed?... landing where?

Instead of telling the citizens to stay indoors they should have already established pick up points in various locations in the country and let them find their way there before the fighting becomes more widespread. They are moving wayyy to slow.... took them this long to figure out they cannot be flown out from Khartoum.

We know they are at war, we should know we have a military attaché on ground that should have started liaising with both factions from day one on possible evacuation of our citizens. I can’t name all other mentions but what we are seeing is the usual last minute arrangement by the FM. We don’t always have to wait till things get out of hand and start using same as excuses. What is the job of our guys in NIA? So you know already Nigerians are being exploited at the borders in Ethiopia? Most people didn’t read me well, the military transport is to bring in aids and personnel to assist the embassy staffs in coordinating safe extraction. We shouldn’t be proud of our inefficient system at all.
In the build up of tensions during the 2015 general elections, the US already stationed troops in Ghana for evacuation of their citizens in Nigeria. First thing our ambassador in Sudan did was to announce he is not prepared for any evacuation, shows not only there was never any time he established contact with the citizens other than going on air to show his hopelessness.

in time of crises, even the American haters want to give them close marking. They want to hang on to their planes and cars. Nobody is running to the terrorist trainers of Saudi Arabia for guidance, but paying attention to every American talk and guidance; But later, all those ungrateful muslims will line up to be shouting death to America, and wishing America evil and fall from grace. The Almighty God will keep disgracing those evil people

America will help their own and try to help others, but ungrateful people will see it as mumuism.

It is not easy to be a world number one.

America, be rest assured that majority of igbos solidly support you. Keep improving your relationship with us, we will work with you, we are mostly loyal to allies , we will improve our mutual successes- economics, new or improved technology, manufacturing; we will share resources with you, and many levels of security and diplomacy. The igbos will remain your reliable friends in Africa, as long as you are fair to us.

May God continue to bless the USA.

On another note, jamaica is overwhelmed with tourist. From January to march, almost 2 million visitors, spending an average of $1000, between hotels, partying, food, and tips. A country of almost 7 million people, just made about 2 billion in two months. Meanwhile, a very fool*sh illiterate, criminal, and incompetent led country in Africa is starving and on a free fall. This year, SA will pass Nigeria on everything, in two years, Ghana might pass her.

igbos, we are really loosing on all fronts in Nigeria and the born f**ls are aloof to the moment. If we igbos improve our plans, we can be structured to be the manufacturing and engineering hub, while attracting many tourist especially the blacks worldwide that are finding about their ancestors. We are loosing billions just being entangled in a misery hell hole; so we need to lower our egos and plan on how to bring out the best from our collective self. We will sacrifice for the best now and the future. We need to increase our structural planning, so that even those foreigners helping or looking to help will see us as people they can respectfully cooperate with, people that are prepared to win in life.

Let us increase the frequency on telling the tribes that have hijacked Nigeria, to integrate the igbos into all levels of the security services, open all the ports, and encourage embassies to open branches that are safe for igbos. The tribal bigots are still thinking our problems are Senate president and all those yeye posts. Let us keep bringing it to the fore front, that and the political unfairness and their sharia agenda, is really bringing the igbos lots of foreign allies and attention.

Italian media have reported that a "very complex" operation led to the evacuation of 150 Italian nationals by air to nearby Djibouti.

The group, which included children and elderly people, was mostly made up of diplomatic corps, NGO personnel and entrepreneurs. The last to leave were the Italian ambassador and military personnel.

The minister of foreign affairs Antonio Tajani said on Sunday that Italy was planning to help evacuate Swiss nationals, Vatican diplomats, and several other European citizens, and that the evacuees would be escorted by members of the special forces.

Tajani also said he received assurances from both sides in the conflict that the Italian contingent would be able to leave the country safely.

Almost 40 Italian nationals working with the NGO Emergency are left in Sudan, Italian media has reported.

Generals have been running the north-east African country of Sudan through what is called the Sovereign Council since a coup in October 2021.

The paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) is under the command of the council's vice-president, Gen Mohamed Hamdan Dagalo. The army, meanwhile, is led by Gen Abdel Fattah al-Burhan, who is the head of the Sovereign Council.

A proposed move to a civilian-led government has floundered on a timetable to integrate the RSF into the national army.

The RSF wanted to delay the move for 10 years, but the army said it should happen in two.

FG should propose the bolded to ipob too

Sending military aircrafts into Sudan will not be taken lightly. Even UK and USA aren't using military to evacuate their citizens. The best thing FG would have done was to speak with the Ethiopia government to allow Nigeria passport holder into their country, then they'll be evacuated from there. But sending a military aircraft into another sovereign nations will be frowned upon

Do you realize most of Nigerians in Sudan went there by land and it’s more easier to evacuate them by land due to the numbers as long as a safe corridor is made for them…. They will easily navigate into chad and from there into so called buhari state… other nation that evacuate their diplomats are few in number most are not up to hundred, this are things will need to put into consideration
