Please avoid home office if you are not up to 3years or 5years in the UK depending on the type of clearance needed. I got an offer for SEO role and the offer was later withdrawn because of not having enough footprints in the UK. This even after sending references o. You can imagine the heartbreak. People should apply to other departments.

British gas supplies only electricity to the apartment. I contacted Octopus, they told me to first contact British gas who are the current electric supplier, before they can take over from them. Or should I try other good electricity provider and see if they can help me notify British gas of my intention to switch?

I shared the other day that I passed my Theory test but soon realised that quite a number of people fail it after talking with some Nigerians around.

An easy way to pass the test for me was to download the "Theory 4 in 1" app, then go through all the 775 practice questions (ideally twice). I was taking the Mock Tests (50 questions at a time), first round was set to "Questions I have never seen" and second round was set to "Questions I had previously failed". If you do this, about 40 or 45 of your real Exam questions would have been learnt.

Secondly, or prior to the above, there are some topics that you must learn very well as they would constitute about half of the test questions. Watch videos on these topics and learn them well if not you will keep failing questions:

Speed Limits
Accident Victim handling
Motorway Road Stud colours
Lights on the car
Stopping distance

Incidents and Breakdowns on Motorways

Quick steps to get your UK Driving Licence:
1. Apply for Provisional Licence on https://www.gov.uk/apply-first-provisional-driving-licence I think it redirects you to some other site. Costs about £32 or so.

2. After a week or two, you get the forms posted to your address which you fill, attach your BRP, and post back to them within 3 weeks before the form expires.

3. After another week or two, you get your Provisional License and can now book for your Theory Test.

4. Book your Theory Test on Gov.uk for £23.

5. Download the Theory 4 in 1 App, prepare for the test and hopefully pass it.

6. Book your Practical Test ASAP on Gov.uk for £62. You might not get a desired date and location but just book any.

7. Reschedule your date and location if need be later as cancellations happen on Gov.uk (free but need luck) or with Testi App (for a fee).

8. Practice on the test route using the App "Driving Test Routes", better still, get an instructor.

9. Pass your Practical Test and get your UK License.

Lool... Writing this just made me realise the whole process could easily cost up to £1k but you don't have to do it all at once. Just start early and you can do it over 2 years or you can decide to do it all in a few weeks.

Again teams will differ but most would require that you have right to remain and no restrictions to work

Plus security clearance will require 3years for CTC clearance,5years for SC and 10years for DV

Interestingly HO can’t sponsor Tier 2/Skilled workers visa

Nope, another govt department. However, once you get SC clearance with any other government dept, it can easily be transferred to HO.

Wow ...any idea what field the person was employed in to? Could it be that the SC was waived because of the level of work required did not necessarily require such?

Some jobs need you to have stayed in the UK for some time to carry out a detailed check on you. Police report from your country is not needed. They want to rely on your stay in the UK to carry out that check. So not having enough foot print in this case may mean someone who has stayed in the UK for more time is more likely to have entered one trouble or the other than some one who just came. However, it doesn't not mean that the person who just came is a saint but with time the person may start to reveal true colour. That is the reason they need you to have stayed in the UK for some time for some jobs. But it varies. Some govt depts ask for something as simple as dbs, criminal record check or Bpss. Just always check what they need before applying . Most home office vacancies will ask for a certain form of security check. For people saying they don't ask that for junior roles please and please dont pay attention to them just follow what is written on the advert. The least home office requires from what i have seen so far is ctc clearance. Which requires you to have stayed in the UK for 3years.

This is a shout-out to you again. Without your help, I'm not sure this would have been possible.

My family graduate visa was approved by the home office today. This couldn't have been possible without your help when all hope was lost.

Even when the care home I have been working with for a year as a relief worker disappointed me and said they could not give me COS.

Well, this same company is ready to offer me COS now that they know I had applied for a graduate visa. (gist for another day}

Just to input this,this goes out to large families applying for a graduate visa like mine (family of 5); it cost us £10,350.

Visa fees: £822, IHS for 2 years: £1,248 .

Please do everything possible to look for that money. If you apply with your partner without the children, your application will be put on hold until you send in the children's application.

Dear people of God ,

Please,I need your input on how to contact the Home Office for an application within the UK on my situation.

My family and I applied to switch to a Tier 2 visa since August. My wife, who is the main applicant, got her visa early in October, while i and the children's visas are still not yet out. This is the 11th week of these applications. i am really worried because our Tier 4 had already expired in late October.

I have successfully completed my MSc, and i am supposed to start working full time now, but this delay is not helping as most of the work i demanding my share code.

I have called the HO, they only told me to send mail to the complaint, which I did two weeks ago. Still no feedback yet. This is really frustrating; what else can i do to address this? Has anyone experienced this before? I need the best advice, please. I am tired of checking my email.
