OGUN STATE: Four Armed Robbers Hijack Ghana-Must-Go Bags Filled With Dollars In Abeokuta ( VIDEO)


A four-man armed robbery gang on Friday struck the Oke-Sokori axis of Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, carting away two Ghana-Must-Go bags reportedly filled with dollar notes.

DAILY POST learnt that the suspects, who were armed with riffles, also covered their faces with masks during the operation that lasted for about three minutes.

The suspects were said to have escaped the scene with the money stacked in the ‘Ghana-Must-Go’ bags after ambushing the car of their victim, a Northern trader in a Toyota Venza, marked, ABC 565 GN.

Eyewitness account has it that the robbery suspects, at about 3:45pm, accosted the man in front of Fatgbems filling station at Oke-Sokori, where they stopped him and forcefully opened the car’s boot.

“They offloaded the two bags containing the foreign currency into their car and zoomed off with the victim’s car key,” a source identified as Oyefemi, told our correspondent.

DAILY POST gathered that the victim had earlier approached a commercial bank to deposit the money, but he was turned back on the premise that the bank had closed for the day.
