Exactly!!! It was his own decision and not his Fathers'. Except I do not clearly understand what he meant. Or people who have been commenting otherwise lack comprehension skills.

yashau:
Arsenal and England sensation Bukayo Saka has revealed he was close to playing for Nigeria ahead of England as he get set to round up his visit to Nigeria.

Saka is presently in Lagos as part of his holidays following the ned of the season in England, he has been soaking in the moment in Nigeria’s commercial capital and has also visited lots of orphanages to give support.

In one of the orphanages he visited, the 21 year old was asked by a staff of the organization why he decided to pick the English national team ahead of the senior national team of Nigeria.

‘I will tell you this. I was very close to playing for one of the youth teams in 2019. It was the wish of my father but things happen and you have to live with your decisions. I feel very much Nigerian and nothing can change that,’ he told OwnGoalNigeria.com.

Our contact also revealed he is likely to meet with the newly sworn in president of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu in Abuja before the end of his holiday in Nigeria.

‘A visit to the president is on their list but I don’t know if it will be possible. He looks quite a lovely lad and shy. At the orphanage we couldn’t believe who was next to us. So humble and down to earth’, staff of the orphanage home stated.

God bless you. The way people read headlines and jump into conclusion even when the full story is before them is frightening.

He should be grateful to his father for saving his career where it's more secured.

Really? Has Alex Iwobi’s career been killed because he plays for Nigeria?

Has Victor Osimhen’s career been killed because he plays for Nigeria?

Samuel Chukwueze?

Taiwo Awoniyi?

ARE THEY DESTROYED OR ARE THEY FLYING HIGH AS WE SPEAK, you stupid, unpatriotic, self-loathing pea brains drowned in inferiority complex and self hate?

The level of SELF HATRED you Nigerians have for your selves is calamitous and alarming.

You’re all worthless, and don’t actually deserve anything good from this country and yourselves whom you hate.

Please let's try to be truthful and detailed when we post news.

I cant see in his response where his father destroyed his super eagles dream.

Please the news should be modified and all good adjustments should be made.

Wrong headline. I think it's misleading. He was even saying it was the wish of his father to play for Nigeria.

Bukayo Saka is such a lovable guy no matter the club u like.

You’re a stupid dog. The best decision is to also shut down nairaland, change it to EPL LAND and insist new members must be born in England. After all you are Nigerians and therefore worthless in your own eyes.

Re: My Father Destroyed My Super Eagles Dream — Saka by chukkystar(m): 4:01pm On Jun 05, 2023
England will make his value higher and he will be exposed to bigger competition and bigger countries than playing for Nigeria. Nigeria that will owe players bonus. Sometimes it's the biggest player in the team that might pay Hotel bills for the rest and no compensation. Okocha said it best at Bolton, he gave his all for Nigeria and at the end of his career they changed the narrative that he chose Bolton over Nigeria cos he prioritiesed himself for the first time.
Re: My Father Destroyed My Super Eagles Dream — Saka by Dougad: 4:01pm On Jun 05, 2023
Na so English hard. See people wey dey protest against English certification exams.

He literally said it was his father's dream for him (Saka) to play for Nigeria but as fate would have it, it didn't work out.

So where did this title come from? Even further proof that people just read only the title instead of the entire write-up cos only one person in the FP noticed it.
