Better working conditions will make many of them stay.
There are better opportunities here if we can work on 3 things. Electricity, Credit, improved remuneration.

Our politicians don't want to address the root cause but they are after the effects

The brain drain will continue...!

Personally, I have nothing against it!

Nigerians don't deserve these brains for starters!!!

When we (leaders and citizens) are ready to curb the brain drain, we know exactly what to do!

Sadly, it might already be too late!

Electricity
Tinubu almost solved electricity problems in Lagos before he was stopped by OBJ. His model is replicated across Nigeria today

Credit
Tinubu is the only Presidential candidate who talked about access to credit as a stimulant for growth.

Increased pay: let's see what happens under this administration.

They should simply increase the number of medical students so that after some have left the country we will still have enough.
You dey mind them....

This quota of a thing is also affecting the healthcare system apart from the japa syndrome

I'll just say this....a good health care system costs a lot of money.

You pay for it by high and heavy taxes....or by USA style medical fees.

At the end of the day, if the government wants to keep doctors and nurses and pharmacists, and radiologists even....they have to start finding money to pay into the system. A lot of money

And the thing is, say we should pay higher taxes, or higher fees, and people would shout poverty....so we have to take more loans.

You can say the same thing about teachers too. They too cost money, and not paying them means they too will japa, and unfortunately can't be replaced by witch doctors. But I guess we all can all go learn to believe in church and mosques. Sadly, we'd be left solving our problems with prayers and fasting instead of getting off our asses and solving our problems with our brains and minds.

But hey! There are gods o, I am told. Or we can pay the tax and invest in our nation instead of in our thieving politicians.

The fundamental problems of Nigeria are the political leaders. Unlike in the developed countries where Nigerian trained doctors are japing to in droves, where the welfare of the politicians is subservient to o that of health workers however, in Nigeria, the exact opposite is the case.

Tinubu just took office, how do you know he cannot stop corruption? It’s up to Nigeria as a whole, not just government to stop taking part in. corruption that has ruined our country.

Stop Jor Dr Mimiko achievement in Ondo is yet to be broken. His tenure really inspired me this man gave free healthcare in Ondo in his time which is now abandoned, unfortunately he became a victim of circumstance during the recession, it's a common knowledge that the period of recession only strong states were able to pay workers salaries however because he was unable to do that like most states his enemies used it against him to ensuring he doesn't install his stooge. Mimiko achievement in Ondo governance remain unbroken and only few governments previously has done better than him.

What about Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Iran, Germany (medicare costs about €110 approx per month for their citizens) etc. that give quality health care at very affordable costs for their citizens? Must we always compare ourselves to US and UK?

That said, i hope money saved or earned from the subsidy removal will be utilized properly in areas of public interest of which the health sector is included.
