Mbappe Apologised To Madrid For Decision Last Year by plethora007: 2:46pm On Jun 14, 2023 |
Kylian Mbappe's letter to PSG declaring he would not renew his contract until 2025 has sent everything up into the air. With this news, the Parisian club are set on selling him this summer, rather than let him walk as a free agent next summer. This is why Real Madrid have emerged once again to potentially secure his services for next season, as they have already done previously - the attempt came in 2021, when there was also a year left on his contract, with an offer that started at €160 milion and rose to €200 million. Ultimately, Mbappe didn't leave Paris and in January when he could already sign with another club, the rumours began to spread like wildfire. The Frenchman reportedly gave his word to Florentino Perez, but finally ended up renewing his contract with the French club. The pressures he suffered from the club's Qatari owners and even the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, made him decide to renew until 2025, as indicated on the jersey he was presented with. However, the contract was for 2 years, with the option for a third, which he will not take next year, as he has announced. According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, the '7' apologised to Madrid's owner, Florentino Perez, for choosing to stay at PSG rather than make the move to Madrid. A gesture of good faith that could be interpreted as a regret prior to his signing for the 'Merengues'.
