Fake story or not, there are some Yoruba widows in Ndi Igbo land. All the Yoruba that went back there with their Igbo husbands lives to regret it. Marry Igbo if you want but only those who stay in the West.

As those like Oyekan daughter, Woke Soyinka and Banjo who empathize with Igbo cause and followed them to the East what they experienced.

FAKE NEWS

Anybody can be Taiwo Badmus.
Anambra people hold Guinness World Records for FAKES.
The news maybe true, but it has nothing to do with the Yorubas. It maybe a demolition that is even affecting more Ibo owned shops but the op as is common with many posters on nairaland, has put the ethnic configuration into it to drive his agenda.
If it was targeted at Yoruba owned shops, the first question to ask is how come the spokesperson of the group is an Iboman?
Also, you hardly find a market section in the SE dominated by other ethnic nationalities.
It's not deliberate, but is a function of the civil war when the SE region became a pariah for other ethnic groups out of fear and sometimes out of the fact that the Iboman, unlike other groups can travel to far flung places to carry out his/her business,so long they feel it would yield them reasonable income

Yoruba Traders protest plot to eject them from market in Anambra

Some Yoruba traders on Friday stormed the headquarters of Onitsha South Local Government Area in Anambra to protest alleged plot by the council chairman, Emeka Orji, to eject them from their Oduigbo section of the Ochanja Central market.

The protesters, who were led by their chairman, Taiwo Badmus, accused the council chairman of collaborating with the chairman of Ochanja Central market, Mr Bonaventure Muo, to eject them in the name of building modern shops.

They carried placards, some of which read “council chairman, Emeka Orji, what have we done to you”, “some of us are widows”, “we earn our living from Oduigbo market”, “Gov. Soludo come to our rescue, they want to demolish the shops in the market to acquire more shops for themselves”, among others.

Taiwo, addressing newsmen on the protest, said that the market chairman and the council chairman, gave them two days to vacate the market or they will use carterpillars to demolish the over 300 shops.

According to him, they said Sunday and Monday would be used for the demolition and asked us to vacate the market before they come up with their weapons of destruction.

“Eighty per cent of the traders here are widows who earn their living from the Oduigbo market,” he said

He appealed to Gov. Charles Soludo to come to their rescue, saying they have no other person to understand their predicament except him alone.

The spokesperson for the widows, Ifeoma Emeka, lamented that the widows, who make up majority of the traders in the market, were being treated like slaves by the government.

Contacted by NAN for comments, the council chairman declined to comment on the issue, while the Ochanja market chairman, said he was working based on instruction from government.

Taofiki omo asinwin, always fanning the embers of inter-ethnic hatred with fake news. I spit on your empty afari kolodo. Tueh!

The OP is a liar. This is the original news link: https://dailynigerian.com/traders-protest-plot-eject/
There was no mention of Yoruba there. The OP replaced Chief Chukwudi Eke with Taiwo Badmus, in order to achieve whatever evil agenda of his might be.
What exactly are those "widows" selling in over 300 shops in onitsha ?...dont tell me that agwo hawking has gone transnational. ...as fake a story as oduduwa's fall unto earth from hell.

Yorubas are in Anambra? B-b-b-but I thought they don't travel, and just stay in their region because they're not adventurous?
