Beautiful indeed, this was when we were still the giants of our dear continent. Please include dates of when each of these was used in the country and under which president or military leader.

Pic 3: the second old one naira note from 1973-84.
Pic 4 The old 5naira note again from 1973-84
Pic 5The old one naira note and the original
Pic 1,2 6: the Nigerian pound before the 1968 reform I think.

Hhmm, i just noticed something. The arabic script is West African Ajami, but is written in Hausa language.

Look at this picture here, the naira note says "naira guda", instead of naira daya, which would be expected as translation for 1.

Daya - 1
Guda daya - 1 only.
Guda -

So why naira guda? That would mean Only Naira, or Naira only.

Native hausa speakers come and help.

Also in second picture it says "Fam Daya"

Hausa transpose the f and p letters. Pound in English is pronounced Found in Hausa intonation. In Hausa language it is fam.

Similarly, Frank is called Prank in Hausa intonation. This is partly why Frank Shaibu is spelt Phrank Shaibu. That's Atiku Abubakar spokesperson.

1 pound is written in Ajami as fam daya for Hausa natives.
