Why SW Is Not Seceding From Nigeria For Now by helinues: 7:49am On Jul 24, 2023 |
Someone asked me are SW people happy about this contraption? My sincere response below How developed is SW to have been thinking about seceding from Nigeria now? How many African countries are we friends with? Having a new country means both international trade and regional trade would be suspended for years, it will take years before your currency can be accepted outside your country. Forget about making direct international flight from your new country for years. A region that is yet to be self sufficient but wan secede, no be Sudan making be that? Are the leaders of the new country going to be from Jupiter abi na still same current Nigeria politicians? 4 Likes 2 Shares |

At least if you are not interested in secession, don't stop or fight against those who want to secede. This is selfishness of a quantum order. 15 Likes 3 Shares |

The question we should ask ourselves is: WHO REMOVED THE REFERENDUM CLAUSE FROM THE NIGERIAN CONSTITUTION BECAUSE THAT CLAUSE WAS DEFINITELY RIGHT THERE IN THE CONSTITUTION AT INDEPENDENCE! 9 Likes |

South West cannot secede from Nigeria because the region is the biggest beneficiary of one Nigeria project. 8 Likes 4 Shares |

Benny90: Continue decieving yourself... Nothing will ever work in this country... Have you not seen that every new government is worse than the one before it? This is due to high level tribalism and people having uttermost loyalty to their tribe and religion. I have watched several videos of countries uniting and building great projects because thy are one and have great patriotism.. Have you seen any project in Nigeria led by Nigerians? None. Imagine what Yorubas, Igbos, Hausa and other tribes uniting to build anything? Hahahah...it will NEVER happen.. Take a look at this project being handled in China... Do you think it can be achieved by the many tribes in Nigeria, or by each tribe being autonomous? Every tribe in Nigeria hates the other tribe... You can see it even here in NL.. Take a look. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VV2SxUoJCVI 4 Likes 3 Shares |

Ogene001: Oga, don't change the subject. Igbos are individual hustlers all over the world. There's no part of the world that you won't find an Igbo man, so Nigeria is no exception. We are talking about South West as a region here. What Nigeria has done for Lagos and Abuja, it hasn't done it for any other state in this country. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Our region southwest is the biggest beneficiary of Nigeria. In terms of ethnic category, the Ibos have leveraged on the opportunity that one Nigeria presents the most. The have also suffered the flip side the most. The irony of one Nigeria is the fact Ibos have aggressively permeated all regions the most yet they want separation. On the other hand We Yorubas are the ones who want one Nigeria the most, yet we are the most resistant to integration. It is safe to say we are the most selfish. We don't want separation because we can't govern ourselves and we have no friends and traditional allies both within and without Nigeria. 1 Like |

helinues: So, you know all these, but want to stop others who want to secede from doing so, or even exercise their franchise in Lagos? More importantly, in light of the level of tribalism that we saw in the Lagos guber elections, why would a SANE person want to share a country with a people so triablistic and so hateful of others? Why are you people so wicked and cowardly? You know you lack the ability to survive on your own, but you also hate others who want to leave you behind? Why hate them? You hate them because you ENVY them. That's why. At some point, you will be FORCED to accept one: Either you leave, or accept others to rule over you in Lagos that all Nigerians own together. I personally believe that this presidential elections tribunal will force it, or start counting down on Nigeria's disintegration. |

helinues: I did not want to say anything to your post before, but if we keep quiet about the delusions you are about it will infect others that are not well informed about how nations stand 1. Tell me which part of nigeria is developed that it will take level of development to achieve a separate statehood and what did you use to qualify your meaning of development? 2. Friendship with countries take time and it depends on what you can offer and that depends majorly on your gdp which measures your trading capacity, presently southwest/yoruba has the biggest gdp in nigeria trippling any other region and don't fool yourself with the narratives of the developers. No new nation make friends that immediately, even some eu countries still does not recognize kosovo as a country and somaliland is not recognized by the UN but its trading with egypt, saudi arabia and south africa 3. like I said, international trade is dependent on what you can offer and yorubaland can offer more trading opportunities than most African nations except for egypt, south africa and kenya only 4. Direct international flight? how has that helped nigeria? it is for a start and one year at most that that will be difficult to do, and Lagos is a hub of international flight which country will not want to profit from that? and besides, cotonou airport in benin republic is there for use 5. your last statement reek of hypocrisy, don't take offense but you are one of the biggest supporter of tinubu and and pain in the neck of the biggest wailers in africa but mocking that leaders of new country will be from jupiter shows that you never believed in those you are supporting, you are just riding along. And what is being self sufficient mean? is it that the region is poor or lack agricultural capacity? Where did you get that delusion from!? I don't know which region you are really from and if you are Yoruba, you are doing yourself and the rest of us and the coming generations of yorubas lots of disservice if you keep up the narrative that we cannot and should not separate from Nigeria. That Yoruba was forced under the point of superior weapons together with their worst enemies and broken amongst three countries which is calculated to make us and other African nations weak should be reasons enough to fight to be free from the bondage they designed for us You can send any argument to counter my post, maybe you might have something to teach 3 Likes |

The question does not make sense. We no longer use that constitution for ages. Besides, the referendum to create midwest state happened in 1063 well after independence confusedlady: |
Re: Why SW Is Not Seceding From Nigeria For Now by confusedlady(f): 9:33pm On Jul 24, 2023 |
DMerciful: Why doesn't it make sense? Someone or somebody removed the referendum clause from the constitution. Who was this person/ people? This referendum was used to take parts of Adamawa out of Nigeria and merged with Cameroon. This same referendum was used to create mid Western state. This is why history needs to be taught in schools because people with agendas are lying to our people. |

Yorubaland is almost the only one funding Nigeria right now and it's ready to hit the ground running when Nigeria breaks. Croatia didn't have it as good as Yoruba but held up well and still do. I pray the warmonger powers will remember and help split the country any which way if we can't do it peacefully. Yoruba are ready now, we need to leave Nigeria or at least have some autonomy like US states. Anything short of this is slavery. Yoruba can't learn history in school, they can't learn their language either. If Nigeria has to break violently, it's well worth it, the status quo is unacceptable. Dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery anytime. helinues: 1 Like |

It doesn't matter now who removed it, the whole constitution was suspended, we need to reinstate the constitution or renegotiate our union. Any region that refuses for the country to be divided must agree to the conditions of those wanting to leave. confusedlady: 1 Like |

They know and that why they quickly played Saul Alinsky gig of accusing others what they are guilty of. Igbos suspended regional govt when they saw that Yorubaland was like a first world country beside their own region, and they knew they would never catch up without breaking Yorubaland down. Yorubaland has since turned to medieval time. Nigeria is the worst thing that ever happened to Yoruba. Ogene001: 1 Like 1 Share |
