Gbenga Daniel's Arraignment Fails To Hold by bunmioguns(m): 7:02pm On Oct 10, 2011 |
The much awaited appearance of the immediate past governor of Ogun state,Gbenga Daniel at the Federal High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun state capital over financial impropriety leveled against him while in office by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC has failed to hold as the judges assigned for the job were absent. The judges were said to be attending the ongoing 2010 /2011 legal year being held in Sokoto state, according to a source at the Federal High Court. The EFCC is also yet to file any charge against the former governor. As early as 7'45 am security was beefed up in and around the court premises to forestall any breakdown of law and order. However, when it was glaring that the case may not come up again today, security operatives who were assigned to take charge at the court premises were seen retreating back to their different base at about 2pm. It will be recalled that the former governor was arrested Thursday (7 October) by the EFCC for financial impropriety and is yet to be charged five days after his arrest, www.channelstv.com/global/news_details.php?nid=29633&cat=Politics |
