So you believed Abuja people had two heads. Since the court said they didn't, the territory's status should be changed to Abuja State. Na wah for una.

Meaning they are less human since they can never aspire to become a governor nor senator throughout their lifetime.

I can bet my two cents you have never read the Land Act. Just confidently stating nonsense.
Sometimes read, so you don't embarass yourself. Any lawyer on this thread would just laugh at your peak Tom foolery. In your mind you're schooling me but you keep on making a fool of yourself. I don't even need to do or say anything.

This is posted not for your benefit but for the benefit of those who actually seek knowledge and would like to talk from a position of knowledge and not ignorance or emotion. Indigenes have no claim to the land or any say in the administration of the FCT. It is there in black and white. The only claims indigenes have is claims for compensation. This is the law, if they like they can go to court and embarrass themselves like Obingoos

There is nothing like FCT indigene anymore, they can’t eat their cake and have it they were relocated and compensated in order that the FCT could be created. By law there is nothing like an FCT indigene, they’ve been bought out and settled long ago.

It is like traditional rulers claiming sovereignty. The British had overthrown them and they have lost their kingdoms, that they are still recognized for sentimental and cultural reasons does not mean they have any Kingdoms or can start claiming rights to kingdoms. There is no mention of traditional rulers in the constitution because they don’t exist in the eyes of federal law It is only states that recognize them again for cultural sentiment and administrative reasons. Same with FCT indigenes.

The corrupt judges said that its should be referred to as a state. Oya where is the governor and what is the capital of FCT? They also ruled that shettima double nomination WAS NOT INTENTIONAL. Can you imagine? shocked shocked

And APC supporters agreed to such a fraudulent ruling. If it's like that, all those in jail for one offence or the other should be released after all they didn't do it intentionally too grin grin grin grin

Oga why do you hate the Yoruba like this for God's sake? What have they done to you? You guys voted for Obi your kinsman why majority of them equally voted for Tinubu their kinsman. Beside, some even voted for Obi in the last election. How many Igbos voted for Tinubu for God's sake. Even 2 of your prominent citizens (Gov Soludo of Anambra State & the former Ebonyi State own) acknowledged this.. That desipte the fact that the Igbos didn't vote much for Tinubu, yet he gave SE most prominent Ministerial portfolios. What else do you people still want & desire from the Yoruba nitori Olorun?

That Abuja original inhabitants were relocated, being the reason Abuja has a unique status from other states, according to the constitution.
Since the constitution is now overruled by the court, and is accepted, Minister must vacate his office for their governor and senators and representatives to emerge.

I always say, Nigerian speak English but do not understand English. “Like a state”. If you truly understand English is NOT the same as “is a state”.

The act creating the FCT clearly states that the FCT will be administered by the federal government. Please read. I have posted extracts and the link to the full act above. The law that created the FCt states explicitly who is to govern it.

Note how the compensation is for Crops
If for any reason the Capital was to shift to any other state, the Indigenes would reclaim their land just like the Lagosians did.

It has been months since i added my opinion here.

On the PEPT Ruling.
They ruled that FCT has no special status and her citizens .in addition FCT is just like any other state . As the judge agreed to it and pass her judgment. Now the grey areas are here.

1. FCT will be right to demand governor and legislatures . If they want to enjoy the status of other states , this is justice . You can’t deny the citizen of FCT from the ambition of being a governor or legislature someday and still bite them to be like ordinary state.

Note: 25% votes attached to them is to show general acceptance by Nigerian as the seat of power is assume to make up of people from different corners of the country . And politicians like wike have little or no influence to rig or influence the election result of FCT since there is no governor to hold polling units to ransom .

2. If the constitution said 25% of 2/3 of 36 states and 25% in FCT as the requirement . When you divide the fraction , it expressively means : you need to have 25% acceptances in Atleast 24 states of 36 states and 25% in FCT .

Note: if you say 2/3 of 37 states , then the interpretation will fail , this is a clear sign that the constitution did not leave any grey area there.

3. For all of you saying Abuja has no indigenous people, are you saying during jamb and other forms you fill, people born in Abuja/indigenous people of Abuja can not fill in the state of their origin as FCT anymore . If FCT/Abuja has always been an option in any form which requires you to fill in state of Origin , is it not pure wickedness if you say no one’s origin is Abuja.

4. Do you not think Abuja indigenous people are marginalized if they can’t contribute to people who govern them or spend resources generating from their land. All FCT ministers are not even mandated to come from their region .

If this judgement stands in supremeCourt , then watch another drama unfolding in our political life.

Pardon my typo errors . Fix any grammar errors . Thanks
