Asaba is a city that sits directly across the city of Onitsha on the banks of the River Niger. It is made up of 5 enclaves, Umu-Ezei, Umu-Agu, Umu-Onaje, Ugbomanta and Umu-Aji. On the 4th of October 1967, Nigeria's second division led by Lt Colonel Murtala, and his deputy, Major Taiwo, entered the city of Asaba, in pursuit of retreating Biafran forces. Biafran Soldiers crossed the Niger Bridge and blew it up behind them, making it impossible for Nigerian Soldiers to Cross Nigerian soldiers then spent the next few days committing all sort of atrocities in the city from rape to summary executions. In a bid to stop the atrocities, some leaders of Asaba organised a crowd of over 700 Asaba people who wore dresses in Nigerian colours, 'singing one Nigeria' trying to remind the Soldiers that Asaba was in the Midwest Region of Nigeria, and not the Breakaway Biafra Soldiers under Mohammed's and Taiwo's command opened fire and there was a massacre. Over a thousand people were killed in the Asaba genocide. Not only was Murtala Mohammed and Taiwo never held accountable for this war crime, both men went on to become important men in Nigeria In 1975, Murtala Mohammed became Military head of state, while Taiwo became military Governor of Kwara State However, both men would meet violent ends 6 months later. On 13th February 1976, Murtala Mohammed and Colonel Taiwo were both gunned down in cold blood in a coup led by Colonel Dimka 2 Likes

Neckpresser101: Shows you a lot about Nigeria. Despite Murtala Mohammed committing genocide, he is one of the most honoured Nigerians that ever lived. He has Airports, Highways and buildings named after him. He was even put on the N20 note Yet, the same Murtala Mohammed was just a coup plotter, military dictator and war criminal In Nigeria, the sky is the limit for nefarious characters 2 Likes |

You have opened another moniker OHUDEALER REVDESMONDJUJU KESEEKER MAGICBISHOP ..now it's BLOODDOE. Anyway HAMAS is being pummeled by phosphorus liquid BOMBs, as you read this. All your Palestine brothers MUST DIE, brutally and even HELL will reject their Worthless Spirit. Their Supporters will also DIE mysteriously and painfully As regards Asaba... Muritala wanted to annex it abi? Thank God the list template has shown that Asaba is definitely an IGBO enclave in the NIGER DELTA. As for you, HAMAS will DIE and their Supporters will DIE.
