SCRYING TOOLS ARE used similarly to the crystal ball in the development of clairvoyance – seeing the past and the future and understanding the present. Scrying requires concentration and so you need an object to focus your mind. Before you use any tool for scrying, you may like to prepare your incense for use while you work.

Unfortunately, the scrying incense is not very pleasant smelling, but it does do its job very well. Use it in very small amounts.

Scrying Incense:
•1 part mugwort
•1 part wormwood

Instructions for preparing the incense are from previous teaching.

Simple tools such as a black bowl or cauldron are very effective for scrying. According to folklore, people used what they had available, and so their tools were often ordinary household objects such as bowls and mirrors.

For scrying, you should choose a new bowl, not old, used kitchen utensils, since these may have vibrations, scratches, or other marks that will affect your reading.
