While Nigeria politicians of all tribes and religions who are less than 5% of the Nigeria population are sharing their loots and consolidating their grip on powers, multidimensional poverty which knows no tribe or religion is pervading the land. Time shall tell if Nigeria will survive this in the long run. 1 Like |

Difrent: Some of you really believe that Tinubu can now sit jejely and do whatever he wants... lol Truth is that these are early innings (to use baseball or cricket terms). Knowing Nigeria very well, serious underground work is happening as we speak. This race is not a sprint. It is a marathon. Unless Tinubu stops appointing only Yorubas and cast the net wide to include every group in his cabinet... The North is using exactly the same strategy OBJ used against them when he picked Musa Yar adua to take the turn of the North. There is a reason they picked Tinubu over all other southern candidates. They needed a "sick" (hence intrinsically/strategically weak) politician. Tinubu is not physically sick, but he is "legitimacy sick" which is as problematic. Time will determine how the North will use that Tinubu's Achilles heel against him. So calm down. Buy your popcorn and enjoy the movie. 1 Like 1 Share |

Odin13: Mister man, I really love your type, and by God's grace I pray that people like you stay in charge. You project your haughtiness, self assurance/confidence, and PRIDE on Igbo ... taunting and daring them. You are totally sure that they cannot do anything. lol If anybody told Goliath that a little boy will have his head on a pike, he would have laughed the person to scorn, too. He was a GENERAL - a well trained and experienced fighter, and was sure of himself that David could do nothing. Until David severed his head from his body, and the rest of the Philistine army fled. You are not a good observer of real life developments in Nigeria in the last decade or so. Your mind is still about 16 years and older back. Omo times have changed o. But don't worry, you will learn. |

onumadu: Some valid points. Especially the heath angle. But we are not God. Few believed Buhari would survive it but he did with Nigerias wealth. But even you know that a Machiavellian like PBAT won't be easily brought down. |
Re: Decline Of Northern Nigeria & Why Tinubu Is Going For The Jugular by onumadu: 4:49am On Nov 20, 2023 |
Difrent: There is a reason I said he needs for Igbo to accept/support him if he truly wants to rule without the North, or change anything the North doesn't want changed. If Igbo continue to hold the line against him, that legitimacy Sword of Damocles will continue to hang over him. The North can use it against him in connivance with some "igbo Tinubus". Oh, you think that only Tinubu is Machiavellian in Southern Nigeria? That he holds monopoly to machiavellianism? lol |

Odin13: Oga, your attempt to project YOUR EGO on Igbo will never work. But, if you genuinely believe that any Igbo opinion on Nigeria is proud, then you have a serious self image problem. The David and Goliath case I cited is exactly apt. You taunted and dared the Igbo to try anything and see shege. Didn't you? You now say that you will foist an emir on Igboland abi? But you accuse Igbo of Ego? You people have SERIOUS MENTAL PROBLEMS. Your thieving bala bluu and his gang of forty thieves cows nobody in the East. Go and appoint an emir in any part of the east. You cannot take orlu from 100 men for 5 years and you are here talking rubbish. Atulu. |

Abia is more industrialised than Kano and Kaduna? So why are millions of IPOB goats living in Kano and Kaduna like refugees, why not return to Abia? This post was definitely written by an uneducated IPOB goat. 6 Likes 1 Share |

Penguin2: Very naive & myopic of you to think the North’s political strength lies in a few politicians that you’ve elevated to demi-gods in your imagination. What do you think our institutions like the Northern Elders Forum, the Sultanate, MACBAN and many other pressure groups exist for? Was it Atiku, Kwankwaso or El-Rufai that stopped Tinubu from his war bid on Nigér? Lol. I tried hard to resist responding to this tripe of a thread but alas, your comment… An Ibo man will not rule Nigeria until he learns to be civil, respectful and diplomatic in his dealings with other Nigerians. Don’t blame the North, rather, be sorry for yourself. 4 Likes |

ariesbull: That’s because the baseless thread was woven by an insecure IPOB Igbo, trying in vain to project his fears and insecurities about the total political decline & irrelevance of the South East on the North and masking it as an illusionary “decline of the North”. The OP’s end game is to try to get into alliance with the North against Tinubu by making us feel victimized & marginalized , when he’s the real victim on a deep, steep socio-political decline. Laughable and Pathetic 8 Likes |

Penguin2: Tinubu has their mumu button. He promotes anti Igbo rhetorics while supporting muslim sentiments to impress Northern Muslims and they keep falling for it. While Tinubu queitly dismembers them. Their hate for Christians and Igbos who embody Christianity in Nigeria has made them not to see beyond their noses. Economically, they're out! If they also lose out sociopolitically, with how divided and insecure North is now, then I doubt they will ever recover again. Maybe, it's nature finally taking place. 1 Like |

Akungitit: Lol, dumbo, Aba is more industrialized than both Kano and Kaduna. You think Kano and Kaduna of 1980's is still the same of today? How many of those industries are still functional today? How many new ones were built? I'm ready to engage you if you can list the industries that are still functional in either Kano and Kaduna and I will list those in Aba for comparison. You think Barth Nnaji will spend 100's of millions in USD to build a power plant in Aba if there weren't lot's of industries that will utilize it? Lol, it's obvious I'm expecting too much from cows and poverty ravaged illiterates. 1 Like |

Sadwaste I lost total interest in this article once you said the North is using herdsmen against the South. This article is too prejud7ced and biased. I am apolitical and neutral and speak from that point. The North suffers locational disadvantage. The Norths "decline" also mirrors the decline of the Nigerian economy as well. 2 Likes |

paramakina202: I think north is using SE brain, they may offer VP as usual. For me its presidential slot or nothing even if it's 4 yrs deal before power goes north. Else Tinubu should gladly continue. |
Re: Decline Of Northern Nigeria & Why Tinubu Is Going For The Jugular by Sadwaste: 10:39am On Nov 20, 2023 |
Okwyjesus: Nah, forget it. The emergence of Peter Obi has destroyed any idea of offering SE VP slot. Obi is now bigger than most Northern politicians now, if not all of them. So, who exactly will he be VP to? Atiku, Kwankwaso or El Rufai? Secondly, even if Obi doesn't mind, Obidient movement won't even allow it. Again, should Obi decide to contest again in 2027, which he has already stated he would, then it's all over for the North, except they agree to back him unanimously. North can't present a candidate that can win presidential election without having either the East or West fully behind them. With Tinubu contesting, the West is ruled out for them. With Obi contesting also, the East is ruled out too. Should they go for a SS man, they won't be able to galvanize the much needed block votes to challenge an incumbent. Also, with Obi contesting, SS will still give him huge votes regardless of whether North has a SS man as VP. Therefore, the two options left for North is to back Peter Obi unanimously in 2027 or they support Tinubu. Difficult choices for them. 8 years of Tinubu will do terrible & irreversible damage to North. Supporting Obi may also mean presidency remaining in South for 16 years. They really miscalculated in backing Tinubu in 2023. 2 Likes |
