You are right about the girl child. I had my girl at almost 41weeks via induction. My boy came at 35wks 6days.

Normal gestation for humans is 40+ or - 2 weeks.

At 39 weeks plus, you still have time a bit.

Usually, medical induction would be offered you at 41 plus 2-5 daysbefore your 42nd week is completed.

One other natural catalyst for labour is the semen because it contains prostaglandins which can initiate labour.

Engaging in sexual intercourse will definitely settle your case.

I watched it like a movie scene with courage and praying.

Don't induce sh!t. Wait until you've crossed 42 weeks before you begin to worry. You are still within safe weeks.

Talk to your obstetrician/gynecologist.

When you get there; the obstetrician will:

a. Take a quick/comprehensive history
b. Do a general and obstetric examination
c. Request for ultra sound scan to access viability, AFI and rule or IUFD.
c. Take sample for investigation
d. Ensure that dating is correct with LMP and early ultra sound scan.
e. Counsel you to wait till 41 weeks and 3/5 days and comeback for possible admission and induction of labour using escalating dose of oxy…. or mi…..

Note that none of these sudden O&G specialists have ordered the above tests to ascertain the health condition of mother and child and the suitability of their "prescriptions" to the particular issue at hand.
Is she has had a medical advice from a qualified O&G doctor, she has no business asking ignorant nairalanders for a second opinion. If she doesn't trust the doctor she saw, she can try somewhere else. That's the sensible thing to do

Let me tell you what some of these babies do. They kack chair inside belle, cross leg they watch you as you dey do exercise. Whenever you bring food to eat they will start jumping up and down saying to themselves my mummy will eat this one and they are happy because once mummy eats they will get their own share. So they are not in a hurry to show up oo. Another thing you need to know is that due to Naija condition, most of these babies don't want to come out. Them no won shout o.

So if you know what is good for you, just go and meet your doctor and request for inducement immediately. Na injection Dem go give you, person no go tell your baby make him waka dey come out con see where Tinubu and APC carry us stroll reach.
