You can never understand ! You self hating piece of shit.

If you had functioning brains and is in touch with reality.
You would know that both afc 2023 and afcon 2023 are being played in 2024.

And for your information both events were postponed due adverse weather conditions.
It is important that the players play under good conditions , except you want them to die of heatstroke.

Always so quick to open mouth and say terrible things about the continent, when disasters and bad things happen in Africa,it's people like you it should take away ,since you are always so persimistic
Adverse weather? The players are sweating massively after 30 minutes and taking cooling breaks!!
So which is it now? Covid or adverse weather cause it seems you've veered from your initial claim

Dude, Covid-19 Pandemic disrupted many things leading to tournament postponements.

The 2020 UEFA European Football Championship was played in summer of 2021. The one Italy won against England.

That's why the next one is summer this year in Germany. Every 4 years.

Remember when Zambia won Afcon in 2012, they only held it for 1 year as 9ja won it in 2013. 2014 Afcon was brought forward to 2013 to avoid clashing with 2014 World Cup in Brazil that Germany won. Even though exactly that hosting year clash happened in Afcon 1994 that 9ja won. It was acceptable back then.

These scheduling abnormalities happen for various reasons.
Afcon was played in 2012 and 2013 to correct the clash of Afcon with World Cups. That's why Afcon was shifted to the odd number years since 2013. So by that covid shouldn't have affected afcon. But even at that, my curiosity is if we are playing afcon in 2024, why can't we call it afcon 2024? Why 2023

It has nothing to do with Africa. COVID 19 caused it. 2021 was played in 2022.
But isn't it time to normalise the dates?

Timoleon:

This edition of the tournament was initially planned to be the third since 2019 to take place during the Northern Hemisphere's summer, in order to reduce scheduling conflicts with European club teams and competitions, however it was postponed by CAF to 13 January – 11 February 2024 on 3 July 2022 due to the adverse summer weather concerns in Ivory Coast, whilst retaining the edition's original name for sponsorship purposes. This followed the 2021 edition in Cameroon also being moved to the Northern Hemisphere's winter season for similar reasons.
That means CAF needs to sit up and get its scheduling correct! If they want to play in summer, they should go ahead and do so. If they prefer the January window, they should stick with it. This misalignment of schedule and names because of Europe is becoming embarrassing. Africa is not an appendage of Europe.
Thanx did the brilliant analysis though. You're the only one with cogent explanation and sense.

“The present Super Eagles are not strong in two major areas of the field – the midfield and goalkeeping,” the former Nigeria captain and 1980 Afcon winner Segun Odegbami said. “There is little that can be done about the team’s strength without the influence of a few players with exceptional skills and abilities in certain areas. There is a dearth of creative and attacking midfield players, who can hold and distribute the ball well.”

Reality is we must pray and hope we win because we are not good enough. If the favourite, Ivory coast win I know we will still qualify for the next round.
We rarely lose against underated teams in AFCON group stage unlike Ghana and Tunisia who normally get shocks and upsets from them. Only to give a hell of a fight when they face us. angry

We should keep praying while other country are freaky working hard to make impact in what they do.. I just laugh una for this nigeria

It must have been awarded with the title Afcon 2024. The same way Euro 2020 was awarded as such and still called Euro 2020 even though it was played in 2021. These are conventions involving many nations and FAs.

Fact is various reasons can cause postponement and rescheduling.

who is the big game player?? If you are referring to victor, then you are just clown. Also, the fact that you believe we played well in the last game further buttresses my assertion that you are a clown. You and all those who support him can book a flight for that waste of striker position back to Napoli...rubbish!!

It not by insult sir. We are having a simple discussion. If you can find me one player even in the Ivory coast set up bigger than victor oshimen then I will gladly collect the clown tag.

Plus the stats speak for itself. Not what you feel. In our last game, we had more shots on goal, more chance created and more corners. What are you basing ur own argument on. Other than your feelings.

Most Nigerians are pretending to be unpatriotic on social media concerning our team in this AFCON but deep within their conscience, they desire naija to win and even lift the trophy regardless.
You are right bro. There are a lot of psychopath in this world. That is the reason why several of these people don't make it in life. They are always negative when several people are positive. Why must you wish your national team bad all the time. Even, if the government are not meeting up to your expectations, must you transfer your aggression on common football or wishing the people involved bad luck. People need to change their perception on the Super Eagles of Nigeria.

There is no convention, it was because of COVID that euro/Afcon were not played in 2020, hence the back dating.

The Nigerian team prefers prayer to working on their tactics and attitude to the game. As I type this, they may already be holding praise and worship sessions already. And before the match starts, they will also congregate for prayers, as if to show the world their piety. Forgetting that the other team is also religious too.
The point is, if they don't work hard and improve their game, they will be humiliated out of the tournament.

We can't beat ivory coast...the best we will get I that match I a draw and we will need to be at our very best even to get that...our problem is at the first few meters of the pitch....we seem not to have a structure to get the ball forward..that region lacks quality and we will suffer...the second problem is been una to impose ourself in a game...that still goes down to the issue no1...lacking quality in the first few meters of the pitch especially the midfield ..teams in Europe are to signing ball playing holding midfielder for nothing...Mikel is the one who gives us that qualityyears back but he is retired ..one will think iwobi can but it's now clear he doesn't have the composure to dictate from deep ..if we can get a pattern and rythmn from

I never it was covid before , while covid might be a contributing factor it wasn't the main reason.

Think naa, imagine them playing now and yet they are taking Cooling breaks .
Imagine what would have happened if they had gone ahead to play then.

Same thing happened to the Asian cup, it ought to be played last year too, but it was postponed.

Climate change... all those news , you no dey read am, or you yourself haven't noticed changes
