There are many reasons people pack out at night, I have never done it though. Some are saying it's because their stuff might be old or worn out.

or just allow God to use them to buy me new one.

Moving from one house to another in this lagos is not a small matter, from the overcharging of the bus driver to the lack of care of some of these moving companies.

I remember packing into a new apartment during the day and the tenants were asking themselves if we were from the bush (oko in Yoruba).

Some people can be dirty inside and don't want to be seen as such. cool

Some do move out at night due to see finish and un necessary attention.

Some people get shame while orders don't just care .

We are private people, we don’t want too many people in our business
VIO, FRSC and co don’t work at night so road is free
We go to work and need night time to move houses.

Privacy of course. This is Africa, not Europe. People have the habit of always poking their noses in other people's business here. My friend and his wife visited me in their car last boxing day, if you see how my landlady came to stand outside on the balcony upstairs looking at us eh... Same thing when they were leaving. I will pack at night or very early in the morning please.

some may owe rents and hope to leave without knowledge of the landlord and neighbours!some may be for shame of their outdated belongings!it could be for cheap cost because that time most transporters dont charge much bcs they have closed for the day.any money in the night is simply an extra for that day!

I love parking out on Sunday during church service. Even road sefty even agboro must be in church by 8am. Landlord himself must have just stepped out to church by that time.

As per my observation, some people prefer to move their belongings at night because of the road situation. There is always less traffic at night than during the day. Of course, this is subjective depending on relocation distance.

EH, I am and have been a tenant. My last two rentings..I packed out in broad daylight self. The second time, I packed out in the presecence of the landlord's representative even. (Landlord had to travel unexpectedly, but he was aware I was moving out).

Pack out at night? IN the unsafe area I was living in at that time?

Most Trucks will tell you they will only move at night because of extortion from Police, Agbéró and other folks who are always on the road to extort

Moving at night prevents all that

People who move out at night are those that dont have any property or much ...so they can move their stuff piecemeal.

If a truck is moving your stuff, how can you get the truck to come at night, when the driver has closed?

I have thought of this before and I discover this are the reasons

Some of them have old and dirty looking properly and personal effects and may look so ugly to pack during the day

Some are still owning their landlord and it will be too late to stop them at that hour especially if the landlord is leaving far

At times people don't want any one to know that they are packing out and they don't even want the new place to know you are packing in

Lastly, they always have their personal reasons but is best known to them

This post make me to remember one of our naughty co tenant that moved out in the middle of the night between 1 and 3am.She came in with a siren vehicle and her dog. Making all sorts of stupid noises.

When she opened the gate and came in l thought it was armed robbers..l was very scared...at first l didn't know what was happening..

Infact, she didn't allow us to sleep through out the night scattering n falling things all over while packing to the vehicle while every where was dead silent.

To be candid l've never seen a stupid and daft creature like that before...that wont consider other people in the middle of the night.l can't come to a conclusion up till now why she did that when she is not a ghost .
