Lol outside the Box might need new machine and raw material that might be more costly.

And it might not. It’s a 2 way thing, we should not let that discourage creativity, innovation and improvement.

The day I was at high sea was the day I knew the enormity of the problems associated with these "take away" foams.

It was an eyesore. Every square inch of the sea was under attack by this enemy of the environment. Most countries have gone paper instead of plastic.

If we ban it's use as take-away pack, we should also ban it's use in packaging/padding brand new electronics inside cartons.

Even the use of papers is equally damaging to the environment due to deforestation.

When tackling environmental crises, we have to take a holistic approach to it.

Do you know Styrofoam cause cancer?
They should be in business by infecting and killing people with cancer?
This is the right thing to do.

Does ban take people's habit of dumping waste in the gutter away? You ban this today, another replace it in the gutters tomorrow.

You are correct and I feel so too.

However, if forestation is pursued with the needed drive, it can counter balance the depleting effect.

Plastics do so much harm to the ecosystem.

E go hard oh!

When was it banned?

You ban something same day you are implementing the ban.

Do you know traders have such goods worth hundreds of millions of naira in their possesion? They should burn their goods abi?

The best solution is to work with the manufacturing companies so they can switch to producing paper takeaway packs.
The enduser is not your problem.

So the banned products should be sold to whom?

Plastics are recyclable, yes..but have you seen the drainages after it rains??

That is why I'm saying, what we need to do is to develop a comprehensive waste management system where these items are adequately disposed!

Those that can be recycled, would be recycled and those that cannot, well..I'm sure we can find ways to destroy those we can't recycle without leaving toxic aftermath for people and the environment.
