Nothing unexpected. All the top candidates said they would remove subsidy. One even said he would remove it immediately and also float the Naira. The result is upon us. The only problem is that many do not want to suffer under a President that was not their own candidate. If it was their own candidate, they would be willing to bear the pain that will bring gain in the future. So that is exactly how Tinubu supporters are feeling. So let the hypocrites continue criticising, all na partisan politics. 13 Likes 2 Shares

Astrid4: There was no escape for the masses as long as Tinubu, Atiku, or Obi won the Presidency. They all supported the subsidy removal that Buhari had planned for June 2023. Obi also insisted he will remove it immediately. Obi even canvassed for floating of the Naira. They all understand that pain must come before gain. There is no escaping what had to come. 4 Likes 1 Share

I’m still his fan. It takes time for things to work. Is he right to remove subsidy? Yes Is he right to harmonise exchange rate? Yes. Naira’s fall against dollars is good for exports. If government can facilitate export, Nigeria can be on to good things!! How can they facilitate export? Make means of production cheaper. Work on power, fix the ports and ease movement of goods out of Nigeria, create storage facilities for farmers across Nigeria. Bountiful agricultural products can be exported easily. Invest massively in education and training as well. Extend railways to all Nigerians. Goods and services can flow to and fro from ports. Recruit more people into the forces and pay them handsomely with augmented training. If they aren’t paid handsomely, they would collect bribes and join lucrative criminal activities like kidnapping and banditry. 3 Likes 1 Share |

gratiaeo: It is easier said than done. If Buhari was not elected in 2015, I would have blamed Nigerians for missing out on the saviour who could have helped us to stamp out corruption. We had Buhari, and corruption is still breathing fine. 4 Likes |

jmoore: Say and do are not the same. So stop exalting who said, and start supporting who is doing. I repeat, bear the pain with the patience you would have demonstrated if it was your candidate who won the Presidency and implemented the same policies already promised. If only Buhari became President and fought corruption as campaigned. If only the electorate had voted him. If only this, if only that. Na Adaobi voice wan get courage to face Nigerian problems? Opportunity cost remains alternative forgone. I repeat, forgone. 4 Likes |

Throwback: You people are so dumb. Suffer under d president? Because tinubu himself is suffering abi, did he slash his own pay? If d man was serious, he won't pay himself for now and reduce unnecessary traveling to cut cost and to show good example. But no, d maggot was doing owambe in Dubai and you fools that he has stolen your future want to suffer for him. Abi u think say inflation dey affect am? How you people think is beyond my imagination. Like, why will I suffer for a politician, be it obi, or akitu. They're all thieves. 8 Likes 1 Share |
Re: Tinubu Fans: How Are You Guys Feeling Right Now? by Throwback: 9:26pm On Feb 05 |
MrPOTUS: Even if the poor you who has not stolen 1kobo of public funds and would rather holiday in Oshogbo instead of Dubai, become President of Nigeria or any country, you would be responsible for policies for which some people would still suffer, despite the good intentions and bold national ambitions that gave birth to such policies. 4 Likes |

Throwback: ^^^ This would all make a little sense (and only a little) if he hadn't gone back on his policy. But he has. As we speak, the Tinubu administration is still paying fuel subsidy - although the exact degree remains unknown. As we speak, the Tinubu administration is awaiting the second tranche of a billion dollar loan - to be used (by its own admission) to prop up the Naira. (It is also possible that tranche may have already been paid and injected into the economy). Which then raises the question that the administration has no answer to: what was the point of all this pain and suffering if the Tinubu administration was going to go back to ground zero? What was the point? 7 Likes 1 Share |

Throwback: Understandable. Even in the richest countries, there are still poor people. It now over 8 months, almost a year and no light at d end of d tunnel for Nigerians. These useless politicians will tell u to endure, and b4 u know it, 4 years is gone with nothing to show for. It's almost a year now. Dey will now tell u dat 4 years isn't enough, dat dey need extra 4, u should know d bastard politicians by now. Gaslighting d masses. Tinubu is failing, he seems not be in control of d situation again. People can't even eat to their satisfaction again, d hyper inflation is terrible, rice which is d most common household food is now gold. He has disappointed everyone, esp his supporters. People like you are too ashamed to admit. 5 Likes 1 Share |

seeme2: ^^^ There's nothing to be proud of. After all the tough talk, he is still paying fuel subsidy. After all the tough talk, he is borrowing money left, right and centre - to prop up a currency he floated a few months ago. We are right back where we started. What was the point? 7 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: Tinubu Fans: How Are You Guys Feeling Right Now? by Fujiyama: 9:58pm On Feb 05 |
Throwback: ^^^ You are missing the point. You don't start what you can't finish. The policies themselves and the sequence in which they were introduced were bound to have the effects we are seeing now. BAT was warned about this then but he thought he knew better. Well...now we all know better. It is going to be very hard to reign in the high inflation that is causing so much human misery across the length and breadth of this country. Serious countries know the damage inflation does and that's why they take inflation very, very seriously - they keep a watchful eye on it and never let it out of sight. What the Tinubu administration has done makes absolutely no sense. Who in their right mind unleashes an extremely destructive inflationary spiral in the name of a policy 'reform' - and then reverses that so called reform halfway? Who does that? I ask again, what was the point of all this pain? 6 Likes 2 Shares |
Re: Tinubu Fans: How Are You Guys Feeling Right Now? by Throwback: 10:04pm On Feb 05 |
MrPOTUS: No! will never be too ashamed to speak the truth about what Nigeria could be and what Nigeria is. Regardless of any partisan considerations for supporting Bola Tinubu, it is my expectation that he will make bold decisions and deliver for the sake of the country. What irks me is that the leadership continue to trivialise the economic situation of the country when it concerns their own benefit, then pass on the burden to the most economically endangered citizens. I am of the opinion that the Executive and Legislature could have cut down on the waste that seem to be normal expenditure for them, considering the economic struggles of the country, but they did not or did some after much public disapproval. I have never expected things to be easy for whoever took over power in 2023. There is no magic that any candidate could have done within the 1st year, to keep things that were terribly bad from being worse, except to borrow the future of Nigeria just to keep an uneasy peace. If your people are mourning, atleast have the commonsense even if you lack the decency, to appear like you are mourning also. To push through economic reforms have never been easy. I certainly hope that their is gain to come after the pain, but only to be enjoyed by those who survive the great tinubulation. 4 Likes |
