The Minister of Transport, Sa’id Alkali, has urged other states to emulate Lagos, saying the success of its Red Line Rail project exemplified collaboration between the federal and state governments.

The News Agency of Nigeria reports that Alkali said collaborative efforts between the federal and state governments enhanced the well-being of the nation and its economy.

At the official commissioning of the Lagos Rail Mass Transit Red Line on Thursday by President Bola Tinubu, the minister also pledged the support of the ministry to the Lagos State government.

He added that the ministry would work together with some state governors to achieve railway connection to enable choice of transportation for passengers, urging the governors to emulate Lagos.

The minister said, “I assure you that the Federal Ministry of Transportation is committed to providing support and expertise to consolidate this laudable achievement.

“Today’s inauguration is a singular promise in achieving this milestone in our administration. This will lead to high connectivity, improve livelihood, boost trade and improve visibility.

“The Federal Ministry of Transportation will support the realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President,”
he said.

In 2024 Nigeria is struggling to make locomotive work, struggling to deliver 3 hrs a day electricity and discussing farmers and herders crisis that is leading to food shortage...

If you were born in Nigeria grew up and struggled here to make ends meet, when you still die here at old age, nobody has the right to send you to hell for any reason, cuz u already been through that...

Good one. If only every state governor can be like those of Lagos where there is continuity and progress. You saw what happened in Osun and Kano?...they were destroying projects done by predecessors.

You can talk about Oyo State, but that gorimapa governor who called himself dapo, the eleyi of eyi, doesn't have any tangible idea, he's a very big mistake to Ogun state people

Wicked lie. You are not exporting passenger neither importing them nor a tourist centre. Either the citizen will pay higher and you still import the parts of the train. In UK for example train is very cheap when compare with other means of transportation but in Lagos opposite.

My question is WHY IS THE TRAIN MORE EXPENSIVE THAN DANFO?

Nigeria thing is always in the opposite direction, train trips are supposed to be cheaper than all other means of transportation.

It was supposed ease load from the shoulders of commuters, especially workers, but it's the opposite. This Lagos that people don't care waiting for over 30mins or to get a cheaper bus with just N100 difference, na dem wan spend more train? How much be salary?

Dapo Abidoun na error

Ogun state only comes behind Lagos, Rivers and FCT in terms of IGR.

Mention any metric- Industries, GDP, Closeness to land and sea ports, border, schools, etc. the state is always among top 4.

Unfortunately, the clueless governor can't use any of these resources to better develop the state.

Just imagine someone like Sanwo-Olu, Wike or Alex Otti being the governor of Ogun state... Lagos sef go dey play catch up in no time.

This I just dumb, it sounds like what someone with sand in their brain would say.
You people just want to kick against the government and it is so bad that you don't mind if you sound like a goat while doing that.
You are irredeemable
