Is your phone an asset or a nuisance?
Re: Your Phone: An Asset Or A Nuisance? by skima(m): 10:49am On Mar 09, 2006
When ur basic need is to call and recieve calls then basi phone is ur way to go.

But if its business minded , as in u need to assess information on-the-go then u need a sophisticated phone.

look at ppl's mentality; they tend to acquire liabilities seeing it as asset. i have see a guy who bought a fone of 42k while struggling to open a bank account with 2k. lipsrsealed embarassed.

To me fone is no asset and should not be mistaking as such. its good to have a fone but think abt ur storm-shelter.
if u are into business then u need a fone to keep contact with ur clients, its a lil bit asset there. but if u start to run rat-race buy buying fone with feature that wouldnt add to your asset, then ur acquiring ur self a liabilty.

My own phone is a nuisance:
- The battery runs out frequently and I have to recharge it.
- The validity period expires and I have to buy new recharge cards even if I make no calls.
- Sometimes someone I don't know may flash me or call me at an inconvenient time.

Frankly, I just want people to email me instead of calling. Why am I spending so much for Internet only to have to spend more on an annoying GSM phone? It's a nuisance!

Re: Your Phone: An Asset Or A Nuisance? by abuguy64(m): 1:32pm On Mar 09, 2006
The phone is an asset to be used by each individual as he sees fit. Those who cannot afford to maintain a phone line, should not get one(aka flashers). If you dont want too many calls, then do not give your number out. When you dont want to be distured, switch off your phone or put it on silent/vibration. If the phone rings, you do not want to answer-then DO NOT ANSWER. Everything has its advantages and disadvantages. Some people just want to be seen as having a phone, when they can not sustain one. I would not want to stay without my phone(s),it is a vital part of me and my daily activities. grin smiley

Re: Your Phone: An Asset Or A Nuisance? by Dauda(m): 4:29am On Mar 10, 2006
My phone is a nuisance. I hardly get calls or call anybody on it. My carrier( Sprint) also sucks but I was entrapped into a 2 year contract. However, I don't think I can do without one.
Re: Your Phone: An Asset Or A Nuisance? by Nobody: 4:31am On Mar 10, 2006
awwww sorry dauda
Re: Your Phone: An Asset Or A Nuisance? by Dauda(m): 4:42am On Mar 10, 2006
My phone is also a nuisance because I have dropped it so many times that its an eyesore right now. Everytime it drops, which is like every hour, the battery pops right out. I guess that explains why I don't make so many calls on it because I have to hide it most of the time. One of the brackets broke the other day and the other is about to break. The annoying thing is that it cost me an arm and a leg.

DUDE

I would die without my cellphone. I use an average of 7000 Minutes a month. I have gone as high as 12,000 in one month before. I do not have a home phone. I do my Banking,Internet,Business,Sport updates, everything is on my phone. I have had my number for over 8yrs and i would literally freak out if my $hit is tampered with. Oh i also have Insurance on that Joint. I am on my phone right now!! I love this $hit. Definitely an ASSET!
