What the hell? Is grid system? Grid system is the only way to measure planning?
What about refuse collection is that not part of planning? Why is Aba so dirty?
Have you got any statistics or this is what you want to.believe
What is the area?

It is A notion n that is sweet in your stomach that makes you feel good

This is Fegge Onitsha well planned
Planning is not just about photos
If you put an abattoir in front of a hospital that is not good planning
There has to be attention to QUALITY of LIFE.
Planning is about people do you ha e the right number of schools, hospitals, the right kind of transport system, attention to social, recreational facilities, waste management and sanitation, quality of air etc
Not just taking photos to show we have streets at right angles whilst people are living like pigs

Transport
Health
Waste Management
Security
Sanitation
Water supply
Air quality

Those are the issues

It is The dirtiest city
How is it better planned than any of the colonial.built areas like Port Harcourt Town,Ebute Meta,Yaba, Ikoyi,Lagos Island?
Does Aba have water distributed to its households? What planning are you talking about?
Does Aba have a sewage plant?
Is Ariaria part of the plan?
No way is Aba better planned than Port Harcourt Town or Lagos Island
only yaba and ikoyi is well planned but they are far behind Aba. Aba planning can only be compared with that of Abuja.

Aba has rail lines inside factories at Factory Road. Aba has Gas lines connected to Factories and some Estates.

I know you people have no manners and home training and are very quick to start insulting your mothers . be warned your mouth no big pass anybody own
Arrangement of roads is not what urban planning is all abou it is just one element depending on the terrain and topography
Urban planning is. ABOUT PEOPLE
How have you planned their lives

Transport
Security
Water
Health
Recreation
Waste Management
Education
Air quality

Lagos state has BRT, an emerging metro rail integrated with water transport
Lagos is better planned than Aba any day
That is more impartial in people's lives than the nonsense you are spewing about grid

The more you talk the more you keep exposing your ignorance. Before engaging you, I never knew you didn't know what a grid system is in urban planning. And you are arguing about town planning?

You may even be a little kid that I'm replying to who knows. I'm just wasting my time with a this kid.

How much of Aba Is covered by this Grid system you are making noise about
As if we have not been in Aba
Are we talking Aba North

Guy leave all this nonsense you are talking for someone who does not know Aba or Ngwa people

There are places in Aba that have never been connected to electricity before as in NEVER

The aggrey road area between Creek road
To Town Market Area to the Port,Prison , industry Road The Rail track Moscow Road and even to Borokiri not to mention GRA golf course down to Amadi Flats and Diobu are all very well planned that is what used to be known as TOWN. BEFORE Obio Akpor joined

That area is much bigger and better planned than this filthy pigsty called. Aba

Chino why are you always misbehaving once a city in Southeast not in Anambra is recignized? Grow up man. Aba township is much bigger than Port Harcourt township if that's what you mean. It's equivalent to D-Line joined with Diobu. Old GRA and old Port Harcourt township. That's Aba South and Phalga without Abuloma.

Aba lost almost 40 years of development not just 24. Since Mbakwe the city has only had jokers as administrators.

It needs a lot of development and I mean a lot to catch up to the changes that happened to other places since the return of democracy. Look at how far even Lagos or Abuja has come in the last 24 years. Look at neighboring places like Enugu, Uyo, Owerri and Port Harcourt. All have massively increased in size while Aba has remained the same pretty much as 40 years ago. Osisioma and Alaoji still are the borders pretty much North and South. Main thoroughfare is still Aba-Owerri road of 5 kilometers (when ever Port Harcourt road is finished, that would make it an 11 kilometer thoroughfare basically).

This is a city that should be 9 LGA’s by now if it had developed the way it should instead it is still 5 and not even fully those 5.

Aba needs a lot of development including bypasses, flyovers, ring roads and new sections of the city plus a recovery of old sections of the city like the Ugwunabo lga

I have been to about 26 states in this country and have seen over 30 cities and towns in Nigeria. I can safely state that Aba is unarguably the best planned city in Nigeria by the British colonialists most especially the city downtown areas. If there is any other better planned city in Nigeria, pls state it here so that I can learn and relearn.

I think the British town planners used the "Cartesian grid" system in designing the city. The arrangement of lands and the design of the road networks are top notch. There are multiple routes to any location. Once you enter Aba town areas, obverse how all the roads looked the same with regular intersections and also how every building are in a single file order.

Abuja town areas is good. IBB tried in Abuja but it can't rival this. I'm talking in terms of proper urban planning not fancy buildings or skyscrapers.

Kudos to the British planners. What the city needs now are regular maintenance of the drainage system and more infrastructural projects.
lol
How many streets or districts are in Aba.How many did you post on this thread now that one will say Aba is well planned.
Ibadan has more than 12 GRAs,I could go to anyone of them and take up to 10 pictures and say Ibadan is well planned.
If you want intelligent and discerning people to understand how well planned Aba is,post pictures of more than half of it's streets. At least, post 10 different streets or locations.
We want to see even if it is well planned up to
Kaduna,Kano,Ibadan,Anambra or any other location in Nigeria.

He is talking assuming people do not know Aba
The indigenous people of Aba are Ngwa and they extend outside And North South to 3 or so LGAs.
A very tiny part of Aba Is captured in those photos.
Generally the Ngwa people are quite troublesome and primitive.
This is one of the reasons it is so dirty and chaotic

Plannin is different from development, you seem to be confusing both. If the pump the money they have invested in Abuja into Aba or make it the Capital of Nigeria, you won't recognize its a place in Nigeria.

The keyword is PLANNED not DEVELOPED.

Even if they pump a Trillion dollars into Aba, that Town will not change
