What it means is that they'll now technically have term limits!

If these amendments sell through, then Nigeria would be on the path of genuine nationhood which will usher in a new era of fulfillments by all the peoples of Nigeria.
There is nothing like technically in the constitution...If there term limit is not stated, that's going to be a loophole that greedy politicians will explore and may be backed with a court judgment.

You're asking me? You don't know that Nigeria is in its present state of political and economic instability because of lopsidedness in the affairs of the nation which has left many Nigerians unsatisfied and disgruntled

Do you know how nations are supposed work Nations are supposed to be such that citizens are ready to die for the good of their country. How many Nigerians are ready to die in a war for Nigeria of today None! If you want to be honest with yourself.

But there are others in other tribes. Do tye Ijebus speak same language with their immediate kinsmen Egba, do the people of Ondo speak same dialect with their immediate kins Osun. Do tye people of Ekiti speak sake dialect with their immediate kins Ondo. Do the Ibadan speak same dialect with the indigenous Eko. Must times I ask if we truly have educated youths nowadays. The only people that speak the Yoruba language is the indigenous Oyo.
Dey play. Yoruba is yoruba. Cheers

this Is The best way to go,it will bring unity. This is one thing pdp achieve in Delta state, and it is giving peace a chance.next zone to produce governor is delta south and it is between ijaw and isoko because itshrkiri have produce governor through uduaghan. This is the only opportunity for my idoma people to produce governor in Benue state. This is the only opportunity for okun people of kogi state to produce governor. We have many tribes that naturally it will be very difficult for them to produce governor or president because of population.

And what is the benefit of that to the common man on the street? Will that ensure that his common patrimony is not stolen? No!!! Politicians are united in Nigeria when it comes to corruption.

Be careful, you may get exactly what you ask for.

In the North, those Fulani would never smell power again until Hausa in the Northwest, Kanuri in the Northeast and Beroni in the Northcentral have their turns.

In the Southeast, Igbo would never smell power until Igala, Onitsha and other minority got power.

In the Southsouth, Ijaw already had their turn. Time for other minorities like Efik, Ibibio etc.

In the West Yoruba will not get power until other Yoruba outside Ogun State got power.

Conclusion: I think this is the work of those who predicted that Igbo would not be President for the next godknowsyears!

Are you high on cow dung? The bill says there will be rotation among rhe senatorial zone for governorship.

This is a welcome development, I pray this bill see the light of the day. Nigeria is too big for only 2 ethnic nationalities to be ruling as if other ethnic zones are bound to be voters only . Is it a crime to come from a minority ethnic or geopolitical zone?
Where is Nigeria today among the committee of nations after decades of leadership by North and South?
Thumbs up to Abba Moro for sponsoring this well thought out bill.

but Nigerians dont care about their hunger. don't be surprised that Nigerians will prefer debating this bill than demanding good governance and accountability from those in power. in the end, it will serve as a good distraction so that those in power can continue looting and sharing everything they can among themselves
What goals should he set?

I think it's a good bill but I don't know how this will work in the case of senators and House of rep members that don't have term limits.

The bill has put a term limit of 8 years accordingly.

That bill if passed and signed will be the best thing to happen to Nigeria

This Bill is highly commendable, it's long overdue for the stability of Nigeria Nation and democracy.
It will greatly reduce ethnic and regional tensions and conflicts during elections in Nigeria.

Kudos to the national assembly.

Power rotation would actually guarantee we elect credible people

Once it's this zone turn we know it's all about selecting best candidate from that particular zone

Power rotation would never guarantee the election of credible people. Rather it would ensure that credible people are shut out because of greed and corruption.

What we need are citizens with plenty of integrity. We need citizens who say absolute no to corruption in all forms. We do not need power brokers who choose leaders for us. Citizens must choose their best leaders, irrespective of tribe and religion.

The greatest challenge this country has is corruption. We have allowed it take roots. If we can get it done away with, then we can have a better country.

what should Keyamo set goals 4?

how is Keyamo setting goals or not setting goals related to the following?

what does the highlighted mean?

which next four years?

apart from spelling "repeat", where in the post did you repeat the question?

why were you not answering my questions?

what was the vacuity in the questions that you questioned?

if there is not vacuity in your question, then you wouldn't have any issues answering the questions above.

which response are you awaiting to be provided before Xmas?

Countries practice power rotations, but non is given a guaranteed 8yrs. More so, non as populous and fragmented as this country is! Imagine a northern extremist buying his way into power and constitutionally remaining there for 8 whole fr*cking years, Christianity & Benue State will cease to exist in Nigeria! Distinguished dumbos and rubber stamps don’t care about the future because they think their present is a gift they have to be perpetually grateful for! sad

Everything I read daily about Nigeria shows that the end is near. And I will be so glad to witness the end of Nigeria.

If this bill is passed, believe me, it is the end of Nigeria. I do not see anything wrong in it, but I am trying to envision a Nigeria under Igbo and Hausa and Fulani will fold their hands. grin Honestly, this is the best strategy to divide Nigeria.

I was against the person who put this bill forward in my previous post, but now, I can see the hand of God in it. Nigeria is going down soon. And it will be the greatest news for me.

You are absolutely wrong. Though I'm not an Igbo man but I believe an Igbo man as a president can unite this country even more than any other tribe. I know for a fact that despite all the noise about Biafra from ignorant and poverty-stricken sections of the Igbos there are many igbos (especially their elites and other enlightened ones among them) who do do not belief in Biafra but have absolute faith in Nigeria.

I consider it outright madness for someone to think that an Igbo presidency would break Nigeria. These are some of the stupid theories people like you use to programme the subconscious mind of the gullible people around you against Igbos.

An Igbo man deserve to be given a chance to also rule this country I believe it's just a matter of time it will come to pass and Nigeria will be better for it!
