Indeed, just as they are using alternative to iron rods, it make sense to build upper floor s with lighter materials perhaps wood, bamboo or combination of wood/bamboo and reduced concrete meaning the bamboo used would have less load on them.
Another thing to remember is that iron rods are so heavy that they actually contribute to buildings that collapse.

I presently live in a 2 storey house that's a 104 years old. The decking is purely wood.
Why don't we result to building with woods and bricks.
Why are we wasting so much money on iron rods.
Can the bamboo carry the heavy weight load and sustain its durability for 30 years?
In building we have to be futuristic, aplly health and safety, and also make sure that used materials are tested and approved.
Be careful not to build cheap today and same building collapse in 30 years time killing you and your loved one's.
Better build a bungalow.

Pls what's the latest price of 12mm and 10mm of iron now? Can I use 10mm for lintel instead of 12mm?
