As at March 20th 2024, this is the list of Forbes world richest billionaires. With Bernard Arnault topping the list with a networth of 228.7B dollars, followed by Jeff Bezos, and then Elon who has fallen two steps below.

But these men aren't truly the richest people in the world. Forbes, Fortune and Bloomberg have a strict policy of who they can include in their rich lists, which leaves several super-rich in the shadows. And while all these three indices are fairly accurate in the way they calculate the wealth of the richest people in the world, their respective company policies prohibits them from including certain people or certain kinds of people in their list, including royalties, political leaders, drug lords, and some persons with shady source of income.

Another important fact is, For the majority of the list, and especially the tech billionaires, their wealth is tied to the transitory value of their shares. Given that most of them couldn’t even sell them all if they wanted to , it makes Forbes list quite redundant in practice. Today let’s do something much more fun and look at the real wealthiest people on the planet who have access to cash, can spend it aggressively and don’t have to worry about paying income or capital gains.
