Former Governor of Katsina State, Barrister Ibrahim Shehu Shema, has officially defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Shema announced this today after meeting with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa, Aso Rock, Abuja.

The former governor was accompanied to see the president alongside the incumbent governor of Katsina, Umar Dikko Radda.

Shema, who previously served as governor under the PDP, has now crossed party lines to join the APC, a decision that is expected to have implications for the political landscape in Katsina State and beyond.

Political watchers say Shema’s decision to join the APC is a potential game-changer in the political calculations of Katsina State.

”It could significantly influence future elections and potentially reshape the balance of power within the state’s political structures, leaving the political landscape in a state of anticipation and uncertainty.

”What this means effectively is that the PDP is dead in Katsina. Former governor Shema was the one holding the party together before now,” a political analyst in Katsina told Platinum Times Nigeria.

How can a former Governor quit PDP and join APC, and not LP, does he not know that the North has concluded plan to dump Tinubu in 2027, join forces with the Igbos and make Peter Obi president? Or has he not heard that Atiku, El Rufai, Kwankwanzo and Yahaya Bello are all jostling to be Obi's Vice President in 2027? He should better join LP, before it's too late grin grin grin grin
