The Colleges of Education have the least UTME cut off mark. This means the olodos are the ones sent to the Colleges of Education.

Even in the Universities, the least UTME scorers are packed and dumped in the Faculties of Education. Students who could not cope in their respective courses are also transferred to the Faculty of Education.

And we want the best teachers to graduate and teach our children?

You are wrong, it is because most schools would rather employ degree holders who are not qualified to teach. Most degree and HND holders use teaching jobs to pass time due to the soaring unemployment rate. These set of graduates know next to nothing about the intricacies of the teaching profession. Go to schools around you and find out. I did a project on this.

Many state governors want to improve the thing, but they remember what happened to elrufai and oshiomole and their attempt to weed out bad eggs in the teaching profession.

Elrufai even came in with a mandate to turn Kaduna education to what obtains in Finland. NUT showed him shege then.

And so the rot continues.

Either way, they started by trying to weed out bad teachers and replace them with qualified ones

And some of the teachers were awful. They should have been sacked, but as you know,

Elrufai even gave them cheap exams. Dem still fail. They should have been sacked.

Most Lagos state primary schools use non-teaching staff (with SSCE) instead of teaching staff with NCE and BSc. Edu. This is something I have seen first hand. That's a metric I have witnessed myself.

They use non-teaching staff a lot cos they don't want to employ teachers and pay normal wages.

I am not saying there are no unqualified teachers, but this statistics doesnโ€™t make sense.
The statistics listed states with the most unqualified teachers, how did they arrive at this data to compare states by states. Unqualified based on what?
Statisense is just cooking figures to gain traffic.
Many of their claims are not realistic and are highly disputable

Well, I won't speak for Statisense and the accuracy of their stats, but the fact remains that Lagos state primary schools are highly understaffed when it comes to qualified teachers.

You can visit the nearest public primary school, you'd discover that at least 40% of their teachers are supposed to be non-teaching staff meanwhile they work as teachers.

You just nailed it man! That was what I told the inspectors that came to the school I was teaching that year in Dawaki, Abuja when they insisted I enroll for PGDE in education. They think we don't know

Re: States With The Most Unqualified Teachers In Primary Schools โ€” Statisense by Tommydare(m): 12:34pm On May 07
Reckless assertion. Some couldn't afford university fees that's why they opted for college of education. And some due to one reason or the other are doing part time of which faculty of education is always the best for that. It's not all people that went to college of education or in faculty of education that are dullard. And it's not everyone that studies in the university or other faculties that are good.

Sometimes in life, you have to act like you have sense. Itโ€™s not every time itโ€™s about tribal banters.
Talk like you are at least educated.
This is not about region, itโ€™s about Statisense dishing out unrealistic statistics like the whole country doesnโ€™t have sense.
Same way I condemned the last one that even seemed to favor my region, like how did they arrive at the number of rich men in a region. What do they mean by rich men? For someone to cook that kind of statistics for you means they really see you finish as a society devoid of intellectuals
