John F. Kennedy made the statement "Ask not what your country can do for you – ask what you can do for your country." during his inaugural address on January 20, 1961, at the United States Capitol in Washington, D.C.

It was a statement he made to ginger up citizens in serving the nation better.

I have taken time to study the statement and its effectiveness. I related it to how human beings put so much expectation in God, and sometimes do less in return, especially in a country like Nigeria.

I have come to the conclusion that it will be apt to say 'ask not what God can do for you, ask what you can do for God.'

It is a paradox to put it this way, but there are inherent truths in it.

These will come subsequently ...

Serving humanity is often seen as good as serving God because many religions teach that caring for others is a fundamental tenet of faith. In Christianity, for example, Jesus instructs his followers to love their neighbors as themselves and to care for the needy. Serving humanity is a way of demonstrating love and compassion, and is considered a way of fulfilling one's spiritual duties.

Additionally, serving humanity is seen as good as serving God because it can have a positive impact on the world. By helping others, individuals can make a tangible difference in the lives of those in need and contribute to creating a kinder, more just society. This act of service is viewed as a way of embodying the values and teachings of religion and contributing to the greater good.

Furthermore, serving humanity is often seen as a way of connecting with the divine. Many people believe that by caring for others, they are expressing their love and devotion to God. This act of service can be a form of worship and a way of deepening one's spiritual connection.

Overall, serving humanity is as good as serving God because it reflects the core values of many religions, has a positive impact on the world, and can deepen one's spiritual connection. By caring for others, individuals can demonstrate their faith and make a meaningful difference in the lives of those around them.

Selflessness is a valuable virtue that involves putting the needs and well-being of others ahead of one's own desires and interests. It is a quality that is often admired and respected in individuals, as it demonstrates a willingness to contribute to the greater good and make sacrifices for the benefit of others.

One of the key virtues of selflessness is compassion. When we act selflessly, we show empathy and understanding towards others, recognizing their needs and helping them in any way we can. This can create a sense of connection and community, fostering positive relationships and a supportive environment.

Selflessness can also lead to a sense of fulfillment and satisfaction. By putting others first, we can experience a deep sense of purpose and meaning in our actions. We become less focused on our own wants and needs, and more attuned to the needs of those around us, leading to a more meaningful and fulfilling life.

Additionally, selflessness can inspire others to act in a similar manner. When we lead by example and demonstrate acts of kindness and generosity, we can motivate others to do the same. This can create a ripple effect of positivity and compassion, ultimately leading to a more caring and compassionate society.

In conclusion, selflessness is a virtue that can bring great benefits to both individuals and society as a whole. By putting the needs of others ahead of our own, we can cultivate compassion, fulfillment, and inspire positive change in the world.

God, the creator of the universe, the almighty and all-knowing being who watches over us and guides us through our lives. Many people turn to God in times of need, asking for blessings, protection, and guidance. But how often do we stop and think about what we can do for God in return?

In today's society, it is very common for people to have a self-centered mindset, focusing only on their own needs and desires. We tend to think of God as a miracle worker, someone who can solve all of our problems and make our lives perfect. But the truth is, God doesn't need us to ask for things. He already knows what we need and want before we even ask.

Instead of constantly asking God for favors, we should be asking ourselves what we can do to show our gratitude and love for Him. One way to do this is through acts of service and kindness towards others. The Bible teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves, to show compassion and mercy to those in need, and to treat others with respect and kindness.

Another way to serve God is through acts of worship and devotion. Praying, meditating, studying scripture, and attending religious services are all ways to show our dedication and commitment to our faith. By taking the time to connect with God on a spiritual level, we are showing Him that we value our relationship with Him.

Additionally, we can serve God by living a life of integrity and righteousness. This means being honest, kind, and compassionate in our interactions with others, and treating everyone with dignity and respect. By living in accordance with God's teachings, we are honoring Him and setting a positive example for others to follow.

Ultimately, asking what we can do for God shifts our focus from ourselves to Him, recognizing His greatness and acknowledging our dependence on Him. It reminds us that we are not entitled to His blessings, but rather should be grateful for all that He has already given us. So let us strive to live a life of service, love, and devotion to God, asking not what He can do for us, but what we can do for Him.

It was a beautiful Sunday morning in a small town nestled in the rolling hills of the countryside. The sanctuary bells tolled as the congregation gathered for their weekly worship service. Among them was a young man named Michael, who had recently moved to the town in search of a fresh start.

As the service began, the man speaking stood at the podium and began his speech.

"Ask not what God can do for you, but what you can do for God," he proclaimed. The words echoed through the sanctuary, prompting Michael to ponder their meaning.

After the service, Michael approached the man and asked him to elaborate on his message. The man smiled kindly and invited Michael to join him for a walk in the sanctuary garden.

As they strolled among the blooming flowers and chirping birds, the pastor explained that too often, people come to God with a list of demands, expecting Him to fulfill their every desire. But true faith, he said, is about surrendering one's will to God's and serving Him with a humble heart.

Michael listened intently, feeling a sense of conviction wash over him. He realized that he had been approaching his faith with a selfish mindset, always seeking blessings and favors from God without considering what he could offer in return.

Inspired by the man's words, Michael decided to change his ways. He began volunteering at the church, helping out with various ministries and reaching out to those in need in the community. He discovered a sense of purpose and fulfillment in serving others, and his faith grew stronger as a result.

Months passed, and Michael became an integral part of the community. His selfless acts of kindness and generosity touched the lives of many, and he was hailed as a beacon of light and hope in the town. People marveled at the transformation that had taken place in him, and Michael knew deep in his heart that it was all thanks to God's grace and guidance.

As he knelt in prayer one evening, Michael thanked God for opening his eyes and showing him the true meaning of faith. He vowed to continue serving God with all his heart and soul, knowing that by giving of himself, he was truly fulfilling his purpose in life.

And so, the young man who had once come to God with selfish intentions now stood before Him with a heart full of love and devotion, ready to answer the call to serve and make a difference in the world. For he had learned that true fulfillment comes not from asking what God can do for you, but from asking what you can do for God.

Talking about problems the nations are facing the Bible made it clear that God has nothing to do with the way nations are deteriorating because Satan is the ruler of the world! Luke 4:5-7; 2Corinthians 4:4; 1John 5:19

So the world will continue to get worse under human government {Ecclesiastes 8:9} due to greed in the hearts of their rulers {Ecclesiastes 4:1} that's why Jesus told his contemporaries to continue praying for God's Kingdom to come.
There's no way out!
One can only find a temporary solution to his or her own pressing needs perhaps chances unexpected comes their way {Ecclesiastes 9:11} but as regards getting things right now i'm afraid it's impossible.

Countries are experiencing different problems as a result of the attitudes of people living in each geographical location and as you and i know for sure that it's impossible to change people's minds instead of reducing the problem as long as the people refuse to change their ways things will continue to get worse!

The problem with black nations started when the colonial masters made our brothers slaves on our own soil, before they do come to take us away as slaves but when they came to rule over us they relegated our system of rule to nothing as our king were rendered worthless before them and they lived like demigods using our people as cooks, gate men, drivers, security guards, gardeners and so on only for our brothers to start seeking the support of our people to join in sending them packing.

Now they are gone but what has happened to the black man's brains?
Well now that the white man has returned to his country our brothers they left the office for now wants to live not like their own bosses who were demigods rather they are now living like gods at the detriment of their own people's welfare! undecided

In a world without lusts, the air is clean and pure, the sky is a brilliant shade of blue, and the earth is lush and green. People move about the streets with an air of contentment and peace, their hearts free from the distractions and temptations of lust.

Without the cloud of desire hanging over them, people are able to truly connect with one another on a deeper level. Relationships are built on trust, respect, and mutual admiration, rather than shallow physical attraction. Every interaction is genuine and heartfelt, devoid of any hidden motives or ulterior intentions.

Families are united and strong, with parents loving and caring for their children selflessly. The community thrives as people work together for the greater good, sharing resources and supporting one another in times of need.

Without the distraction of lusts, people are able to focus on their passions and pursuits, channeling their energy into creativity and innovation. The world is filled with art, music, and literature that uplift and inspire, as people channel their innermost desires into creations that enrich the soul.

Nature flourishes in this world, as people live in harmony with the environment, respecting and cherishing the beauty and wonder of the natural world. The earth is a paradise, teeming with life and vitality, as people work together to protect and preserve the delicate balance of the ecosystem.

In this world without lusts, people live in harmony with one another, with nature, and with themselves. Their hearts are pure, their intentions are noble, and their spirits are free. The world is a place of peace, love, and joy, where every moment is a gift to be treasured and cherished.

2. India-Pakistan conflict: The conflict between India and Pakistan is also fueled by religious differences, with India being predominantly Hindu and Pakistan being predominantly Muslim. The two countries have fought several wars over the disputed region of Kashmir.

3. Sunni-Shia conflict: The Sunni-Shia conflict dates back to the early days of Islam and continues to cause tensions and violence in countries like Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon where the two sects coexist.

4. Buddhist-Muslim conflict in Myanmar: The Rohingya Muslim minority in Myanmar has faced persecution and violence at the hands of the Buddhist majority, leading to a humanitarian crisis and international condemnation.

5. Hindu-Muslim conflict in India: Hindu-Muslim tensions in India have led to communal violence and discrimination against minorities, particularly in areas like Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh.

6. Christian-Muslim conflict in Nigeria: The Boko Haram insurgency in Nigeria is fueled by religious extremism, with the militant group targeting Christians and Muslims who do not adhere to its radical interpretation of Islam.

7. Sikh-Muslim conflict in India: The Sikh-Muslim conflict in India has a long history of violence and communal tensions, particularly in the state of Punjab.

8. Conflicts between religious extremists and secular governments: In countries like Afghanistan, Somalia, and Nigeria, religious extremist groups like the Taliban, Al-Shabaab, and Boko Haram have waged violent campaigns against secular governments and religious minorities, leading to widespread death and destruction.

Overall, the conflicts caused by religions across the world are often complex and deeply entrenched, with deep historical, cultural, and political roots. Addressing these conflicts requires a nuanced understanding of the religious, social, and political dynamics at play, as well as a commitment to promoting dialogue, tolerance, and peace-building efforts.

The famous quote "Ask not what your country can do for you, ask what you can do for your country" is attributed to President John F. Kennedy, who spoke these words during his inaugural address in 1961. This powerful statement resonates with the values of service, selflessness, and sacrifice for the greater good. However, this sentiment can also be applied to our relationship with God.

As individuals, we often turn to God in times of need, asking for His help, guidance, and blessings. We pray for success, health, wealth, and happiness, seeking divine intervention to solve our problems and fulfill our desires. While it is natural and understandable to seek God's assistance in times of trouble, we must also remember that our relationship with God is not one-sided.

Just as President Kennedy urged the American people to consider what they could contribute to their country, we should also reflect on what we can give to God. Instead of simply asking for God's help, we should ask ourselves how we can serve God, how we can honor Him, and how we can live in accordance with His will.

One way to shift our focus from asking to giving is through acts of service and charity. By helping others, we are serving God and fulfilling His command to love our neighbors as ourselves. Volunteering at a soup kitchen, donating to a charity, or simply lending a helping hand to someone in need are all ways in which we can show our love and gratitude to God.

Another way to give back to God is through prayer and worship. Instead of only asking for blessings and favors, we can pray for guidance, strength, and wisdom to fulfill His purpose for us. By dedicating time for prayer, meditation, and reflection, we are showing our commitment to our faith and our desire to deepen our relationship with God.

Ultimately, asking not what God can do for us, but what we can do for God, is a mindset shift that can lead to a more fulfilling and meaningful spiritual journey. By focusing on serving, loving, and honoring God, we can strengthen our faith, cultivate a deeper sense of purpose, and experience His presence in our lives in a more profound way.

In conclusion, let us heed the call to ask not what God can do for us, but what we can do for God. By serving Him, loving Him, and living according to His will, we can align ourselves with His purpose and experience the true joy and fulfillment that comes from a life devoted to God.

6 LESSONS FROM THE HAPPIEST MAN ON EARTH BY EDDIE JAKU

1. There are many things more precious than money

It is easy to be enslaved by the mindset that money is the most imperative treasure in society. Money is always transient, just like most things in life. It comes and goes, but how much are you willing to pay for the fleeting pleasure? The consequences of a money-mentality are much more damaging than the value of money itself. Are you willing to put your mental, emotional, and physical well-being on the line? There are things more precious than money. Here are a few:
-Experiences
-Genuine connections
-A feeling of purpose
-Genuine concern for helping others
-Eddie says, “there are many things in this world that no amount of money will buy you, and some things are priceless beyond measure.”

2. Weakness can be turned into hatred

Weak people lack the ability to maintain any level of emotional intelligence. People who lack emotional intelligence and a strong sense of self are easily influenced to hate. Their values and convictions are not based on strong foundations; rather, they are proponents of radical causes. Hatred is a disease that consumes the human mind to the point of no return, causing significant harm to oneself and others.

“If enough people had stood up then come on Kristallnacht, and said, ‘enough what are you doing? What is wrong with you?’ then the course of history would have been different. but they did not. they were scared they were weak, and their weakness allowed them to be manipulated into hatred ” — Eddie Jaku

3. Tomorrow will come if you survive. one step at a time

The majority of people give up because they feel the suffering will never end. They relinquish control because their vision is clouded by minor inconveniences rather than the bigger picture.

“The closer you get to something, the blurrier it gets,” as the saying goes. Be well-rounded, logical, and foresighted. Nothing on it has the word “forever” written on it.

4. You can find kindness everywhere, even from strangers

If you take a step out of your own world for even a moment, you will notice that you are not alone. The most serious problem is that we cannot talk freely about ourselves, our lives, and our issues. You are not alone in the universe. There are people who would happily assist you if you were willing to be vulnerable.

5. One good friend

“The greatest thing you will ever do is be loved by another person” — repeat this sentence until you realise that love and friendship are the best medicine.

I cannot emphasise this enough, especially to young people. Without friendship, a human being is lost. A friend is someone who reminds you to feel alive.

6. Education is a lifesaver

I do not mean formal education when I use the word “education”. Yes, formal education is fantastic and brings great opportunities, but life education is much more critical. Understanding the laws of human nature, being mindful of worldviews, and knowing how to connect so that your voice is heard are all examples of life education. To be self-sufficient and not depend on others for a good life.

You may not be able to change the world because it is beyond your power, but you can change yourself. Change is possible, despite what you can believe, but it requires discipline.
Re: Ask Not What God Can Do For You... by OT2024: 10:22am On Jul 04
Selflessness is a virtue that is often admired and valued in individuals across different cultures and societies. It is the act of putting the needs and well-being of others before one's own interests, desires, and concerns. While it may seem counterintuitive in a world that often celebrates self-promotion and individual success, selflessness plays a crucial role in fostering positive relationships, building strong communities, and promoting a more harmonious society.

One of the key aspects of selflessness is empathy, the ability to understand and share the feelings of others. By practicing empathy and putting oneself in another person's shoes, individuals can develop a deeper understanding of the needs and struggles of those around them. This can lead to more compassionate interactions and a greater sense of connection with others. In relationships, whether they be familial, romantic, or platonic, selflessness is crucial for maintaining trust, respect, and mutual support. When individuals prioritize the well-being of their loved ones above their own desires, conflicts can be resolved more easily, and bonds can be strengthened.

Selflessness also plays a significant role in building strong communities. When individuals are willing to contribute their time, resources, and skills for the greater good, communities can thrive and grow in a sustainable way. Acts of selflessness, such as volunteering, charitable giving, or simply lending a helping hand to those in need, can create a ripple effect of positivity that benefits not only the recipients but also the givers themselves. By fostering a culture of selflessness within a community, individuals can feel a sense of belonging, purpose, and fulfillment that goes beyond personal gain.

Moreover, selflessness is essential for promoting social justice and equality. By advocating for the rights and well-being of marginalized and vulnerable populations, selfless individuals can help create a more just and inclusive society. In a world where selfishness and greed can perpetuate systemic inequalities and injustices, selflessness is a powerful force for driving positive change and promoting a more equitable distribution of resources and opportunities.

In conclusion, selflessness is a fundamental quality that can enrich our lives and the lives of those around us. By practicing empathy, prioritizing the needs of others, and contributing to the well-being of our communities, we can build stronger relationships, create thriving communities, and work towards a more just and compassionate society. Ultimately, selflessness reminds us that our true fulfillment and happiness lie in our connections with others and our ability to make a positive impact on the world.

Food production is a critical aspect of ensuring food security across the globe. With the world population continuously growing, it is imperative to boost food production to meet the increasing demand for food. However, this task is not without its challenges. Factors such as climate change, limited resources, and environmental degradation pose significant obstacles to increasing food production. Despite these challenges, there are various strategies that can be implemented to boost food production across the world.

One of the key strategies for boosting food production is investing in sustainable agriculture practices. Sustainable agriculture focuses on maximizing crop yields while minimizing environmental impacts. This can be achieved by using organic farming methods, crop rotation, and integrated pest management. By implementing sustainable agriculture practices, farmers can increase their crop yields while protecting the environment for future generations.

Another crucial aspect of boosting food production is investing in agricultural research and technology. Advances in agriculture technology, such as genetically modified crops and precision farming techniques, have the potential to significantly increase crop yields. By investing in research and development, scientists can develop new crop varieties that are more resilient to pests and diseases, as well as more productive in terms of yield.

Furthermore, improving access to agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizers, and irrigation can also help boost food production. Many smallholder farmers in developing countries lack access to these inputs, which limits their ability to increase their crop yields. By providing farmers with access to quality seeds, fertilizers, and irrigation, they can improve their productivity and increase their food production.

In addition to these strategies, improving infrastructure and market access for farmers is also essential for boosting food production. Many farmers in remote areas lack access to markets where they can sell their produce. By improving infrastructure such as roads, storage facilities, and market access, farmers can sell their produce more efficiently, increasing their income and incentivizing them to produce more food.

It is clear that boosting food production across the world is crucial for ensuring food security and addressing global hunger. By investing in sustainable agriculture practices, agricultural research and technology, and improving access to inputs and markets, we can increase food production and feed a growing population. It is imperative that governments, international organizations, and the private sector work together to implement these strategies and ensure a food-secure future for all.
