Na them!!

@Lunaloopies chat at your own peril.

You might be a pessimist, I don't care about that, I served more than a decade ago and I am doing well for myself. It's one of my mission in life to guide those younger than I do based on experience, so no perils

just yesterday here at a beer parlor one man was blabbing how education is useless but when he got to the 3rd bottle he kept talking about how he went for 1st master’s degree, 2nd masters, writing his thesis etc. this is the same person saying education is useless. Even u talking u have done yours but here u are dropping misleading advice.
he must've thought otherwise initially, then went on do the masters, then it dawned on him later on.. Hence his outburst at the beer parlour..

You'll give the advice here if you really wanna "guide" those younger than you are.
I bolded those because that'll mean you wanna guide more than one person and the best way to do that is to bring up the advice here so others can benefit.
Tell yourself whatever makes you sleep at night.
The "dm me" and the "chat me up" crew are scammers.

So I will because of you become an empty barrel. Let me school you a bit. About 4 years ago a man here was complaining about his wife and was about getting a divorce, I dropped my number and we talked I got to know what the problems were and gave him the required advice, 2 years later he reached out and to say thank you for saving my marriage. Like him I have had conversations with nothing less than 40 persons here on Nairaland.
So If you chose to be shallow with your thinking then keep it up

Dear brother, please find good job in Kenya or Uganda. I know you are a Nigerian, but Nigeria is no longer safe. So consider your safety, many things have led to short life span of Nigerians, bad roads, illiterate drivers everywhere, kidnappers, robbers and in this Era it's hard to trust any Nigerian. Moreso, getting good job in Nigeria nowadays is hard, ask those that have graduated since.
Hope you are aware that East African countries employ East Africans first before considering other nationalities. You think the OP wanting to come back home to job hunt doesn't know what he/she is doing?

I doubt he is Kenyan or Ugandan. Due to this, he might face challenges there.

In addition, they too suffer from unemployment issues

Hello there, I'm nigerian but born and raised in Kenya and East Africa. My degree is Ugandan and work experience Kenyan. I'm relocating to nigeria and currently looking for work wondering if I'll have to do nysc also? I've never stepped foot there and I'd like some guidance. I'm 26

How will it affect my chances of getting a job

Relocating to Nigeria for what? You better move to Australia or New Zealand. Nigeria is living hell for us because of bad leaders.
Re: Nysc For Foreign Born Nigerians by Nyanabo2: 3:01pm On May 19
NYSC Is for every Nigerian as long as you can prove you are a Nigerian by having a valid means of identification, NIN, International passport or viters card.

According to the NYSC law, employers are not expected to employ anyone that does not have either NYSC discharged certificate or excemption certificate.
Excemption certificate is issued to someone that graduated when he/she is 30 years and above as at the time of graduation or such person is a Service man.
In your own case, you are advised to go for the NYSC service so as to brightening your chances in job prospecting and also if you have the intension of going for political post in future.

UNIPORT DELAY IN RELEASING GRAGUATING LIST OF 2019/2020 ACADEMIC SESSION (Physics department)

Hello Nairalanders.
I bring to your notice issues bordering on the untold hardship Uniport, Physics department is bringing upon us.

After defending our projects and final exams in the 2019/2020 academic session, four years down the line, the physics department of Uniport headed by Dr. Chad Umoren as the then HOD is yet to release our results and graduating list.

Years after graduation and celebration of our convocation, we cannot move forward or make meaningful progress but rather stagnant and overwhelmed by depression, helplessness and suicide.

After much pressure from student and parents, the only excuse that was given by the department was that the laptop crashed and our exam records cannot be retrieved so they are working on it.

We cannot apply for jobs or be gainfully employed due to not being mobilized for NYSC. Many of us has missed life changing opportunities due to this challenge. Many of us are roaming the streets, many are even depressed. I mean, how do we explain to our parents, sponsors, neighbors well-wishers and even naysayers that we actually fulfilled all academic requirements from the University of Port Harcourt?

Many of our struggling and ailing parents, who, amidst the hardship managed to sponsor us, who wished to see their children graduate have died in their hopelessness.

We fear that if this issue lingers further beyond these four years already wasted in this difficult country and challenging economy, more students will/may commit suicide as there seems to be no hope in sight.

We are using this medium to pray and call on the following:

*The Minister of Education.
*The Senate committee on education.
*The Honorable House and Committee members on education
*Rivers State commissioner of education
*The NUC
Including relevant Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies, and other well meaning Nigerians to use their most revered office to intervene immediately and prevail on this lingering issue which has taken years by requesting the vice Chancellor, university of Port Harcourt to intervene immediately and engage Uniport Physics department to resolve this matter as soon as possible in the interest of our future.

Please, we are begging the government and well meaning Nigerians to come to our aid.

Regardless of where you were born, once you're below 30yrs of age before graduation, you have to serve your country via NYSC as a graduate

Note: 1. You might not necessarily need it if you're not planning to work here or have anything to do with politics
2. Only those who graduated over 30yrs are exempted via an NYSC exemption letter
3. Once you've represented Nigeria in any international event, World Cup, Olympic and others such as the uniform agencies, you don't need to serve anymore. You'll be exempted
4. If you finish before 30yrs and did not serve, sorry, there are some appointments, offers and jobs you can't get in Nigeria. This is while you see aged persons in their 40s, 50s even 60s in NYSC camp. Hope we still remember the drama of our former finance minister Kemi Adeosun.

Thanks, it says exemptions are only for people who are in the military, nigerian missions and people who got their first degree at 30 and above sadly
You are not eligible for exemptions , you apply as a foreign graduate and you will be enrolled for tge service. I have someone who applied for the exemption certificate 30 years after his graduation in the USA he wanted to come back and join politics but he was rejected for exemptions because he graduated when he was less than 30 even if he was 55 at the point of application.

NYSC is not compulsory, you can apply for an exemption certificate but you're still of age. If you're still interested in taking part in NYSC, you can visit their website nysc.gog.ng to find out how you can get mobilized as a graduate of a foreign university.

He can only apply for exemption if he graduated after the age of 30 from higher institution. Therefore, since he is under 30 at the moment, he should go for his NYSC jejely.

You'll need to join NYSC sadly 😥. It's the law that you serve as cheap labor for a year of your life. I won't waste a year of life doing such when there's money to made.
