Always complaining about everything

You are evil coterie of a low class. You said he should not complain. Are you happy with your life? Are you happy seeing what people around you pass through daily to eke out a living? You need to really visit Yaba left for mental reassessment.

Lagos deserves a special status and it will get it. You Obidients from the tiny barren states can not stop it.
After all, in your states, all you do is celebrate gutters and signboard. Lagos is the only hope of a better life that you have. You see that special status, Lagos will get it.
If you don't like it, go and die

Agreed. But don't come here to tell me tomorrow of how lagos was built by the Yorubas since they don't have the capacity to make it a smart city.

Incompetent failures always use such to deflect Nigerians from burning issues facing the geographical expression....they have failed in all indices & that is the reason they brought up this rubbish of National Anthem..

..it did not bring the deired result because the thieves were hoping that Nigerians will waste their time commenting on the confusion..while the continue failing & looting..

Re: Don't Enact Law On National Anthem By Legislative Fiat — AGF by Timothy89(m): 2:10pm On May 28
The saint labour party lawmakers too join them in the stupidity

If 70% of Nigerians have a working brain, none of those senators that seat to debate the returning of the old anthem when economy is biting hard that most of them suppose to be visiting their constituencies distributing a relief items(palliative) suppose return to that green and red chamber in 2027 whether LP, PDP or APC

Must Nigerians always complain about everything

Most of the people complaining here are not any better than the government they are complaining about. Give them opportunity and they with loot to stupor and do worst
And you'll be screaming and tearing your head off then especially if they are not from your tribe, religion or political party

Stop crying ceaselessly...it's not required.

The only issue here is this ..support BIAFRA so that IGBOs will not interfere in your beautiful affairs anymore.

Will unity Begging allow you? grin

When settled nwaboi can't pay his shop rent, and have to scamper back to his master's shop; there's a problem.

We have brains that can bring forth better anthems if we're displeased with the present one.

I no follow una for the shame o.

Do you even know what rhyme means?

Look down at the three stanzas of the anthem, the second, fourth and sixth lines rhyme in all three stanzas. Now what do you understand by rhyme? Or do you just feel like disgracing yourself this afternoon?

Nigeria we hail thee,
Our own dear native land,
Though tribe and tongue may differ,
In brotherhood we stand,
Nigerians all, and proud to serve
Our sovereign Motherland.

Our flag shall be a symbol
That truth and justice reign,
In peace or battle honour’d,
And this we count as gain,
To hand on to our children
A banner without stain.

O God of all creation,
Grant this our one request,
Help us to build a nation
Where no man is oppressed,
And so with peace and plenty
Nigeria may be blessed.

Re: Don't Enact Law On National Anthem By Legislative Fiat — AGF by BondRiv: 5:33pm On May 28
I like this AGF. The legislators ought not to be told this but since they are representing themselves, it has become necessary. There is nothing more patriotic than this current anthem but all these old people in power like taking irrational decisions. Focus on important issues.

I'm happy you picked the 2nd, 4th and 6th lines to get your rhymes. However lines 2 and 4 do not rhyme in verse 3. Also the song is very fvcked up in terms of metre with so many drawn vowels and skipped tones. Arise O' compatriots is far better

Arise, O Compatriots
Nigeria's call obey
To serve our fatherland
With love and strength and faith
The labour of our heroes past,
shall never be in vain
To serve with heart and might,
One nation bound in freedom, peace and unity.

Oh God of creation,
Direct our noble cause
Guide thou our leaders right
Help our youth the truth to know
In love and honesty to grow
And living just and true
Great lofty heights attain
To build a nation where peace and justice shall reign
