For Sahin Oliver Twisters I Debosky Sports understands that Sahin's arrival is potentially dependent on Dmitri deciding to join Barca. If Billabong Billong decides to go, then it's more likely we'll see Sahin. Personally we should not let him go - we can't keep breaking the team up each season and rebuilding it. Even the best of new players will need time to adapt to the EPL. We still don't know if Walcott will sign a new deal, whether RVP will go and what will happen to Song - three changes is way too much for this side to take on at the moment. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by proudly9ja(m): 2:26pm On Aug 08, 2012 |
Hopefully, Song won't leave BUT I still would like us to either loan Sahin or someone else. We will lose Song in January if he goes for the ACN. It would be good to have an experienced player who has been part of the team (even if only for a few months) to fully take his place for that period. I admit its a bit tricky though. We would have more than enough midfielders especially if Diaby and Rosicky remain fit for most part of the season. It would be interesting to see if Song would personally want to move to Barca. Yes he may win trophies but would he get as much time on the field as he would want? Good thing is that he still has about three years left on his contract. If he leaves, it would be because Arsenal wants to sell. |

Moderakina - fraudster in the house. Cleanup required. proudly9ja: Hopefully, Song won't leave BUT I still would like us to either loan Sahin or someone else. We will lose Song in January if he goes for the ACN. It would be good to have an experienced player who has been part of the team (even if only for a few months) to fully take his place for that period. Sahin may be 'experienced' to you, but to me he is no better than Wilshere, considering he's never played in the EPL and barely played all of last season. Besides, we already have too many midfield players - we should NOT take on Sahin unless someone leaves. Even if Song goes to the ACN, we still have Coquelin and Frimpong, that's if we ignore Diaby and others who can play in that position. Just how many 'back ups' do you need? We already have one of the most bloated squads - we need to avoid just adding for the sake of it - get rid of the dross and don't get Sahin unless someone is sold or loaned out. |

debosky: Moderakina - fraudster in the house. Cleanup required. Haba bros!!! If you really mean that then we shall start to doubt the fair judgement of the editorial board at deboSKY Sports. Remember Sahin was the hottest thing in the German league(Okay I agree it's an inferior league, regardless ) in 2010/2011. He had a bad spell at Madrid, yes, but so did two time World Player of the Year, Kaka. Don't forget Madrid had the best Squad on Planet earth last season, and I mean the best darn squad on the Planet. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by debosky(m): 10:04pm On Aug 08, 2012 |
^^ Bros I may be overstating the point but it's not far off the mark. I know Madrid's squad was fantastic, but when Sami Khedira went there he pushed his way in, even with the likes of Alonso and Diarra being around, but Sahin didn't. I'm not saying Sahin isn't good, but clearly we don't know how good he is at the moment, only that like Coquelin, he can play at right back. Why add another such player to the wage bill when we're still wondering how we'll fit all the midfielders we have into three spots? If we have money to burn, let's sign another striker instead or another RB. Fit midfielders at the moment - Ramsey, Arteta, Diaby , Coquelin, Song, Frimpong. LANS waiting in the wings - Wilshere, Rozzi. That's without mentioning youngsters who may get a chance, or people like the Ox or Santi who may be asked to do a job in midfield. If we sell Song, or loan Rambo out or something, then maybe we can consider adding another one. If not, forget Sahin! |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by proudly9ja(m): 10:14pm On Aug 08, 2012 |
^^^ Frimpong is not fit. He is injured till November and even when he comes back, I doubt it if he won't go on loan again to regain fitness. That leaves us with 5 fit players of which three have to play every game. Even after adding Rosicky to the list, I still don't think its too much to add one more player considering out of those 6, we may lose two to injuries for varying lengths and we may lose another for a at least a month in January (a period we are scheduled to play City, Liverpool and Chelsea). Wilshere to me needs a miracle to play at his normal level this season. I expect him if all goes well, to return to that level by end of the season (TV5 case study). Overall, adding Sahin would only make it possible for us to properly rotate especially if we plan on fighting on all fronts this season. BTW, why u dey concerned about our spending money nah? U don buy shares for Arsenal ni? Plus you should know that na Arsene spoil us this season. After buying Podolski, Cazorla and Giroud, we have every right to ask for more o You think if it was last season, Ild be asking for Sahin ni? When I know adding Sahin would probably mean selling two players. Abeg lets enjoy it while it lasts. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by debosky(m): 10:25pm On Aug 08, 2012 |
^^ Awoof dey run belle. Be satisfied with three for now. . . if y'all are not careful, Wenger will not make a signing for the next 3 seasons and will be reminding you of the 3 he bought in 2012 and the 5 he bought in 2011. I understand what you're saying, but we need an RB more than another midfielder at the moment. What you also forget is that adding Sahin means adding both a non-EU and a non-homegrown player to the squad, meaning someone else may have to leave to accommodate him. Looking back at last season, what killed us was that period in Jan/Feb when we lost all our fullbacks - if we're looking to remedy that (with Sagna already injured) then buying a RB should be our first priority. |
Re: Arsenal Fans Thread: Finally Reborn! The Red & White Army: FA CUP Champions 2020 by proudly9ja(m): 10:41pm On Aug 08, 2012 |
As long as we have Jenkinson and Coquelin, I doubt AW will do anything in the RB direction. Ive heard Sahin can play one of the full back positions. Not sure if its RB or LB though There's also this gist that Van der Wiel is coming in from Ajax and Jenkinson is going on loan to a Championship side. So AW may probably be thinking in line too. |

Not only are Liverpool also interested in a loan deal for Real Madrid midfielder Sahin, but Arsenal are unlikely to pursue him unless they end up selling Alex Song . http://www.fussballtransfers.com/bundesliga/fc-bayern-arsenal-star-als-alternative-fur-martinez_29863 How true is the rumour that Song is leaving cos bigger teams like Bayern and Barca are looking at getting him. Even though i think this is a dumb transfer. Song is one of the least disciplined DM in the trade. I would take Martinez for 30m than take Song for 15. Even I would take Mikel over Song |

I set out to scout for Arsenal in this Olympic tournament, I cast my gaze far and wide and considered a number of knowns and unknowns, also went to see a couple of games at Old Toilet. Neymar is class but will be eaten alive in the Premier league, the boy needs a lot of quarter pounders before he is ready for the PL as he is easily eased off the ball and doesn't look ready for the rough stuff. Oscar looks very ready indeed and will likely do well at Chelsea, he would have felt very much at home with us. A player that really caught my eye played for the UAE, Omar Abdulrahman Al Amoodi he is called, top quality player, just 20 years old who needs to leave the backwater UAE league as quickly as possible. Now that we have above decent strength squad, this is the kind of player I'd like to see us take a gamble on if he would qualify for a Work permit. We are yet to buy our customary annual young player for this season and it seems Arsene is after Mbiaye Niang but I sure hope he kept an eye on the Olympics. |

RVP's true nature comes out. If he is not interested, Manure won't be after him and making this much noise in the media. Can anyone imagine Del Piero signing for AC Milan from Juventus? That boy doesnt respect us end of, and we will show him in exactly the same way the Barca fans showed Figo back in the day. So, after Manure have been soundly trounced in the money games with PSG over Moura, they want to salvage their wretched transfer summer by buying RVP? Okay naa, I siddon dey look. Arsene and Gazidis, over to you. |

Loyalty or not, infidelity or not, my case is that the Club should not let this RVP matter drag past this weekend. Its Community Shield weekend and the League resumes next week. Did I just say next week ? Fooooootballll is backkkkkkkkkkk!!!!!!! |

duduspace: RVP's true nature comes out. If he is not interested, Manure won't be after him and making this much noise in the media What do you mean? If he wants 'ambition' then Utd is the place to go as the most successful club in EPL history. It fits in fully with his desire for trophies. The Del Piero comparison is wrong though, RVP won no titles with Arsenal, and does not personify the club in the way someone like Henry would. He wants to leave - Utd should cough up 20m and let's move on. |
