A New Bill For Regional Government Being Considered By National Assembly? by LegendHero(m): 4:23pm On May 31 |
This is a trending news on social media now about the National Assembly considering the return to regional government with a modified structure in a bid to repeal some of the 1999 constitution. We are not sure yet of the authenticity or the level of work done on this but the bill stated that it plan for it to be effective by Oct 2024. It seems the draft of the bill got leaked or NASS purposely sent it to the media. A Bill for an Act to Substitute the Annexure to Decree 24 of 1999 with a New Governance Model for the Federal Republic of Nigeria This Act may be cited as the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria New Governance Model for Nigeria Act 2024. Enacted by the National Assembly of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 23 Likes 2 Shares

God bless Nigeria forever. Tinubu should just do this for us. Apart from resource control and management, if this bill should become law, Nigeria will be massively secured because it'll be each region responsibilities to police their people. Akpabio and the nass over to you. 24 Likes 1 Share |

Fantastic, Fantastic, Fantastic. I knew Tinubu would do something like this. Very effective, intelligent leader. This is Earth-shaking. I see a glorious future for the country. Now you can see the reasoning behind the anthem change. He wants to return the country to the STATUS QUO ANTE. As we were before the 1966 coup disrupted the country. He’s Achebe’s proverbial traveler who remembered where the rain began to beat him. Might we even return to the Parliamentary system? Who knows what this genius President has up his sleeves? This visionary leader? This is high level, strategic thinking by President Bola Tinubu. Excellent stuff. 👍 18 Likes 2 Shares |

Exactly what Nigeria NEEDS in this era. Until we respect our tribal and ethnical differences and uniquenesses, and RESTRUCTURE Nigeria into regions accordingly, Nigeria will not make significant progress. A UNITED REGIONS OF NIGERIA (URN) is the way forward IF we are going to remain as "One Nigeria". 9 Likes |

This is the first time I going to give eulogies to tinubu should he succeed in doing this Eventually Nigeria is disintegrating before our eyes. I await the reaction of the powers that be from the north As an Igbo man, I welcome this wholeheartedly 15 Likes 3 Shares |

This is one of the reasons I stand with BAT, he got ⚽️s to do whatever he feels it’s right that’s an important characteristics of a leader ,not a push over like Jona. Nigeria is too corrupt you can’t fight corruption with EFCC , ICPC or police alone , you can only do that by policies , one of them is by implementing the removal of subsidy and floating of Niara. but myopic people will call us Agbado because they’re hungry 🤤. I don’t blame them sha , but supporting futuristic plans is the way for long term prosperity. 23 Likes 1 Share |

I love this 100% Each region will develop as it like. If you want sharia and hisba, go ahead. If you like UGM to control your region, no problem And if na OPC or agbekoya you like for your region, so be it. No outsiders should leave their region to disturb people of other regions. You do anyhow, you see anyhow! Face your region! 23 Likes |

This would be a great feat by the Tinubu's administration if achieved. This move, I believe, would rather help stabilize Nigeria as one united, indivisible nation as there'll cease to be too many disgruntled individuals and groups ready to tear everyone apart for being marginalized. Bravo! 4 Likes |

SE legislators will oppose it on the condition that we return back to the original four regions. Just watch and see. Those people can never be on their own. They staged a coup to prevent creation of COR region. They dismantled regionalism for centrism so that they can leach on the entire polity. They dragged same COR people into their useless Biafra after they were booted out. Since then, they have been undermining a return to true federalism. Even their useless Obi campaigned on sustaining the central govt and the useless 1999 constitution. Just watch and see how they will join northern hawks to frustrate this major bill. 8 Likes 1 Share |

All the non Igbo Obidient social media influencers on X from Lerry to the Edo influencers refused to condemn the carnage that happened in the South East. Peter Obi, Moghalu, Ezekwezili, Aisha yesufu, Rufai Oseni, GRV, Jimi Disu and other neoliberal charla:tans refused to say anything against the carnage. Yorùbá Obidients who are busy denigrating their people and race for their Igbo masters have gone quiet. This is to tell you we are dealing with trai:tors and dealers with no loyalty to anybody, the country except their own pockets and bellies. Our Yorùbá political leaders have eyes to see the hypocrisy going on, they can see that the Obidient movement was hardcore Igbo nationalism meant to take power for Igbos outside the Southeast specifically in the Southwest. It is a disgrace that it is the common Yoruba people that are calling out their political leaders in the self preservation of Yorùbáland. 23 Likes 1 Share |

To be honest, if Tinubu pulls this off, na me go carry am for head for south east in 2027.. let's go back to regionalism and test our individual might. Nigeria as presently constituted has covered up the inadequacies of many people. 3 Likes |

Iceberg3: Your useless Obi campaigned on the grounds that Nigeria's current system and constitution were perfect and he even swore to uphold before an audience of Arewa leaders in the north. We know the people who destroyed regionalism for a parasitic quasi Marxist centrist system and how they went to war because Gowon carved out states from the deplorable old eastern Nigeria. We know the same people who hid under Obasanjo's third term bill to throw away the proposed 25% derivative to oil producing states. We know the same people who stood with the north to claim that coastal oil producing states do not have any right to their offshore gas and oil wells. We know the same people who kept silent when Rivers and Lagos secured a court ruling to have VAT collection be removed from federal purview. We know the same people who lined up behind a candidate who swore to uphold the useless 1999 constitution. We know the people from within the South who have never produced one advocate or voice towards restructuring. We know una. 1 Like 1 Share |

Iceberg3: I am only saying the obvious facts given your antecedents and your collective political outlook. You are no nationalists and your seccesionist movement is all fake . Even in Nigeria, your region depends heavily on both the federal govt and other states to survive. You can't even sit your ass in your states . So stop spewing trash as if you are happy about this because I know you are not. Your Messiah Obi even condemned any talk of restructuring during his failed presidential campaigns and swore to uphold the current Zikist system. I have since predicted years back on this forum that your people are the number 1 opposers to restructuring Nigeria . So don't be filling yourself Ordinary Lagos -Calabar road was a contention to you guys because you saw it as a big threat to your future annexation and occupation of those coastal routes. You guys are worse than the Fulanis you insult here daily and are the architects of Nigeria's current failed state. 2 Likes 1 Share |

ChiefJusticeFuc:That's because you already know the truth. For those who want it, fundamental restructuring requires wider debate leading to a possible referendum. It must be ethnic based so that ethnic regions must be defined and minority regions defined too. A situation where Anioma land and much of Igbo speaking Riviers state are branded minorities and pushed to minority dominated regions is nothing close to restructuring. The resources of the Igbos will not be used to sponsor anti-Igbo blackmail. 4 Likes |
