President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has received public praise from Senator Shehu Sani for tackling the problem of Northern Governors routinely moving to Abuja instead of staying in their respective states to serve their constituents.
Sani lauded the President’s observation and called it sound guidance in a post that was made public on his verified X handle. He also noted the significance of such a comment coming from the nation’s highest office.

“The President seems worried about most Northern Governors relocating to Abuja instead of staying in their respective states to work for their people.
That is a good observation and a wise counsel,” Sani remarked.

He contrasted President Tinubu’s direct approach with that of his predecessor, who, according to Sani, lacked the courage to address this issue openly.

Sani’s endorsement of the President’s stance underscores a broader concern regarding governance and accountability in the Northern regions of Nigeria.

The frequent absence of governors from their states has been a point of contention, with critics arguing that it hampers effective governance and development.

By highlighting this issue, President Tinubu has brought renewed attention to the need for local leaders to be more present and proactive in addressing the challenges facing their communities.

The President’s call for governors to remain in their states is seen as a push for greater accountability and a more hands-on approach to governance.
This directive is expected to encourage governors to focus more on local issues and development projects, ensuring that they are more attuned to the needs of their constituents.

Northern governors...the most wicked among the governors.

They all have no value for education other than for their children.

Wicked set of people.

Majority of the northern governors live in Abuja. Some just travel once a month to the states they govern and stay maybe 3 days.

Back then bello used to govern kogi from Abuja. If he goes to lokoja he is coming back to Abuja same day.

A law should be made to depose any governor that is away from his state for 7 consecutive days.
