Reelmii: Padding your statement with “there’s no justification for stealing” doesn’t take away the fact that you just justified his actions. This dude worked at the head office. His position was high enough for him to have access to that amount of money, and you think he was amongst those getting 80k per month? You think a poor man would reach for N40B? Isn’t it obvious this guy has seen and enjoyed money to an extent where millions don’t count anymore? Bro, I don’t think you thought this one through. The reason we should pay our employees well is because it is the right thing to do, not because they’d steal from us if we don’t. You don’t blackmail employers into paying you more with the subtle threat of stealing their money if they don’t. Stealing should never be an option for an employee even if he’s not well paid. Someone that would steal will likely do so when the opportunity presents itself no matter how much you pay them. That’s because our lifestyle changes the more we earn and we always need more. So let’s not sympathize with greedy folks, please. 10 Likes 2 Shares |

Omoawoke: He simply capitalized on very poor or almost non existent inter control mechanism. I have read people talked about him being the final authorisation officer but even at that, it is evidently clear that the internal control mechanism not to talk of the regular inspection is almost non existent. 7 Likes |

That's why those who mock the japa syndrome say you can quickly make it in Nigeria than going abroad. It is for things like this. ....and those who are japaing to saner climes where you are truly rewarded for your efforts and talents are laughed at. They know the porous system will favour thieves and certificate forgers idahme: 5 Likes |

Almost all Nigerians are crooks. Even including those living abroad. Remove all politicians today and replace them with those on social media including NL, and watch as the country will collapse totally within one week with a new level of stealing is not corruption. 6 Likes 3 Shares |

Kingray10:From a reliable source, the bank is only been conservative with the amount so as not to triggers panic from customers running to secure their money. The figure is over 200 billion and still counting. First bank has been scammed to near bankrupt. Naija I hail thea. 4 Likes |

Reelmii: Any staff who authorized payments/transfer in First bank PLC is a full staff and not a contract staff. First bank does not assign some important/specific roles to contract staff. First bank staff are comfortable compare to what contract staff receive despite doing some of the tedious tasks. In most First bank branches, full staff may be 4/5 and the rest are contract staff. First bank full staff receive 13th month salary, house loan, car loan, P4P etc. Underpayment is not the reason why he did what he did but deep-rooted criminal intent and greediness, thank you. 8 Likes 1 Share |
