This is not true except you're resident in remote areas like Ibadan, osun, etc.

Sarcasm. Okay

You guys should quit this line of thinking, it is a dumb way to make an argument

Why? Is it bad advice to grow your own cassava and make your own gari? I wasn't after all arguing, though I might just start now.

Guess you never had my poor mother and her 5 kids with bras to buy and school fees to pay. If you had, and didn't want to eat sawdust, I'm certain you'd see my advice as good.

So we're now looking for a cheaper alternative to garri😂?!

They say Amala is made from yam peels and yam peels are still free, until Tinubu hears that Nigerians are now eating yam peels, then we can reduce the standard to cassava peels and leaves.

My brother, try yam peels.

Not everyone can do subsistence agriculture, not everyone owns a farmland or little garden.
Are you going to start subsistence farming as a tenant.
Truth be told, Nigeria is messed up, I saw it coming a long time ago and a lot of people warned about it.
I wonder what Fela would say if he was alive

Have you tried sawdust? It's free from the sawmill or 50 Naira per garawa depending on the wood quality.

Alternatively, grow your own cassava and make your own gari.

I went to garri market two days ago and I bought the seeds. You know the big seeds they sieve from garri. I bought it for my dogs because they waste the good garri I have.
I went to grind it this afternoon and I was just chatting with some people at the mill, one woman told me that it's actually really good. She said I can grind it multiple times into Powdered form and make it like semo. Maybe you should try it.

Tinubu should open borders and flood the market with foodstuff from neighbouring countries.
Make Nigerians no come die of hunger.

Yeah, Tinubu should open borders so the hard working farmers in other countries can flood the market with the produce of their hard work so we can eat what we have not sown. We after all owe it to those countries across the border to create employment for them so we don't die of hunger.

It's not as if unemployment has killed anyone yet, and who cares about sweating!

That is why it is not good to talk quickly without having firt hand knowledge. A bag of elubo was 30,000 Naira before, just increased to 40k per bag. 50 Kg bag, now work out the maths to see the cost per paint yourself

As in, will Fulani allow him to plant a few cassava plants in his compound?

I should think so, because if Fulani was his problem, gari most likely wouldn't be his problem.

Incidentally, in my own Osun State where I grew my own cassava, Fulani was not my problem. My problem was the lazy fuqs of my own village who watched me go farm everyday while they sat drinking "owo kami" (Kami money), and then go harvest my cassava behind my back when it's ready.

Kami was the state rep or something, outside whose house they sat all day going "rankadede" or its Yoruba equivalent so Kami could give them 20k. There was no way they were going to give that up for the fraction of it I'd pay if they came and grew cassava with me.
